I don't see 'no thermal management necessary' being useful in any way for nearly all RC applications. My lipolys are barely warm after beating them in full throttle 4 minute flights to ~80% DOD. Hence, no management or other temperature control provisions are necessary.

What would be useful is a doubling if A123's energy and power density. They will have my attention when they can do this.

This is a murderous biz. I'm surprised they are still around. I think the Tesla uses 1800 A1 cells. Bad news on reliability on that ap. Toyota seems to have a lock on how to do it. I don't even know what they use but it seems to work seamlessly.

I bought the DeWalt A1 packs and stripped them down for the cells. I also got a very good deal on their little drill line they discontinued. That uses a 900mah cell. Both are wonderful cells.

Charged with a iCharger and zero problems for 5 years or more. The new lipos are so good I would switch if they crapped out but these are just like the Bunny. No decrease in power or duration. Best product I ever bought for electric planes.

I put one plane away for two years fully charged. Charged it up last month and it took only 10% to top it off. Flys as good as ever. Hard to believe.

I have no idea how long these things will last. They are tough.

Sounds promising, but it is a LiFePo technology... Great resiliency, but less power density than LiPo. For Model Aircraft the weight penalty is just too much for me.
