Tundra tires for Super Cub LP
I have recently bought a Super Cub LP and I love it, but whenever I attempt to land it on the grass at my field the landing gear catch and it flips. There is never any damage , but I would like to be able to land and take off of grass. So, what size, type, and brand of tire should I get. Any responses are much appreciated.

Just bigger and not too heavy, any brand that your LHS might have. Check to see if you are bending your wire main gear to the back, put it back (bend it) where it belongs and that will help too.

OK, thanks for the advice and I did notice that my landing gear were bent back some. I plan to fly it this weekend with my new tires.

Big enough ?
 Thats a APC 12x6 prop,With 4 inches of ground clearance. Here they are for sale....total weight (for the 2) is 1.2. ozs...And they fit the Super Cubs stock landing gear wire w/o any mod. >>> http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXZWM1&P=Z

What I did was buy some larger wheels from the lhs and then took the stock front tires and put on in the back. Man lands and taxi's so well in the grass.

I've found on landings that even if you flare like a pro, you can't nail them all and sometimes just enough of a dip will nose it over.
A good practice is to completely cut throttle once you're flaring, it'll keep the prop from spinning just in case if it DOES nose over. |
