Description:

they are only ccw iv had the 15x8" Propeller from goodluckbuy.com as you can see ,i still have not received the 13x6.5" Propeller from goodluckbuy.com , but today i was told by goodluckbuy.com,

quote ,,,

For the 13" order ( ), it has on its way already, can you simply refuse the delivery of the package?
It would come back to us and we can provide a full refund after we receive it ,

so I will not get my 50 back for weeks as iv bought a lot of them for my now copy frame so just letting you lot know the score with goodluckbuy.com even if the advert says ccw + cw then you are only going to get ccw

GLB Octo-clone

Hexa,

I just received my Octo-clone and I am really surprised as the packaging
was excellent........every part was in it's own plastic bag......packing slip
was included........all hardware was properly arranged in a plastic bag and
sealed properly......all parts looked brand new......and nothing was damaged
or broken! Ohhhhhhhhhh................Yeahhhhhhhhhh!!! But still no instructions!

Why do you, Addias and Batfire think that the majority of the Chinese Mfg's.
do not send instructions? Even a few b&w photos with some numbers on
them like #1 #2 #3 to show the order of assembly. It can't be a COST
factor thing and it just makes no sense at all.

Well, instructions or not, I'm going to start my build tonight so thanks to all of
you who have contributed to this thread!

I would imagine that they figure most people don't need instructions, if they did supply them then you know they would be wong and people would just complain... or only read half of them then complain

Firstly thats good news that your frames arrived. welcome to the CloneZone
secondly i have no idea why they dont send instructions, But to be fair the frame goes together real easy and you'll be looking at a massive frame assembled in no time.. I buy quite a few complete RTF kits from proper brands like XAircraft and they even come with minimal instructions.. But some times the instructions are direct translation from chinese to english and still dont make a lot of sence (Chinglish). I know through chatting with the staff at GLB quite a bit that the assemble these Octo kits inhouse out of components from different suppliers so i guess there is no actuall manufacturer of the whole frame so maybe thats why there are no instructions.. I just looked at the picture and its a doddle to put together.. Hope yours all goes smoothly..
By the way What FC you going to use on it?

I think a lot of you underestimate the language barrier involved here, and also how small margins they operate with.
A lot of these products are made by small factories, maybe even one or two man shops. And the percentage of English speaking persons, is about as high as Chinese speaking Americans I would guess. So the fact is that they probably do not have anyone working for them that knows English well enough to make a manual. And no budget to have one made professionally.
Just imagine if you had to make a technical manual in Chinese.

So far I have lifted 6.5kg (10.2kg AUW) with no problem. But would not recommend that much. Ideally AUW under 7kg should give the best performance and flight times.

Instructions?????????

Guys,

Thanks for all your comments about the Chinese instructions (or lack thereof)
yet something is better than nothing, even if they sent a few photos with a
parts list, ya know?

It does not look all too difficult and I am already going at it, so I'll take photos of
my build and post them as a thank you for all of the great info you guys have
posted. Oh, I got the Carbon version.....and like I stated a few posts back,
it looks pretty good to me and it's not apcray CF!

Cine-Octo-Clone Assembly

Well, here goes the big put together! Just for the record, I bought this Octo and
have no affiliation with GLB other than a being a customer.

So, It arrived today via DHL and I had to sign for it. Condition......you be the judge from these photos.

Yes, there even was a packing slip. From the GLB Octo-Clone page photos, it
seemed to me that all parts & hardware were accounted for and the individual
parts were properly packaged. I know.......I was surprised also!

I will tell you guys that the Carbon Fiber sure looks to be a good quality and it certainly is not going to bend because it does not flex like some low quality CF that I have seen. Also, the CNC did a very nice job of cutting out the flat parts and all edges were smooth and all of the holes and slots were uniform. I did not notice any irregularities at all and, once again, I am very surprised!

Here is my GLB Hexa version. I think I finally got the FC configured so it's time to put on some props and fly.

I'm using a battery mount intended for the DJI S800 http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet...gs-S800/Detail I've got two 6S 8000 mAh lipos with redundant attachment methods:

1) 3M Dual lock 250 to 250
2) two battery straps

This has become my preferred method for mounting large batteries. It is so much more solid and secure than battery straps alone

I'm also using the XAircraft mounting tube system. Because of the weight of the batteries I'm using complete rings on the tubes as opposed to the standard U-shaped Xaircraft mounting bracket. I've got the wifi tansmitter and the LED mounted to the tubes with the standard brackets
