I have seen warnings about using 3s litho's with Spectrum Tx that use 8 cell NICD packs. Has anyone tried the 3s lithos and what was their experience.

The DX7S and the DX8 are designed for 2 cell lipos..

The DX7 with the 8 cell NICAD pack, can use a 3 cell lipo.. More voltage will heat the voltage regulators more and heat shortens the life of electronics, will it be enough to make a difference in the lifespan of the radio, why bother finding out?

With 9.9v life packs being fairly affordable and LSD Nimhs being a better alternative, I dont see a reason to use a 3S Lipo unless it was a temporary fix till you get a better suited pack.

Would this also be case for older JR's like 347 and 747 (#'s are from memory and may be a off a bit) , I have 2.4 modules for them and was wondering about converting those also
