28mm.

OK, for anyone wanting to go nuts: http://www.shapeways.com/model/93266...ade-rotor.html
For techo types - I gave it a high central angle of attack and declined it by 17.5 at the tip. I tapered the blade, swept it back and lifted the tip to centre it with the root of the blade. There are 5 supports in the hub to maintain balance of the rotor. Shaft hole is 1.497mm in diameter. It will only print in detail and ultra detail as the blades are approx. 0.5mm in thickness. I did make them thinner first design but decided to go thicker=stronger so upped the airfoil a tad. The airfoil itself is an undercam shape.

The cost sucks as Shapeways now charges a 5 dollar setup fee each item for this material, so the rotor itself only costs around 4 bucks.

Uuuummmmmm,

Wondering what you've been up too. The $100.00 Bazooka and now this rotor. Okay, I'll bite. Have some of the Mig innrunners on hand. This might be just the ticket for staying 2S and getting a bit more from them. Will order two rotors and shrouds. Will test and post results.

NC,

Quick question or two. What motor did you originally have in mind for this rotor? Also, did you have a particular shroud to mate up with it? I'm thinking this rotor will require a bit more torque than even the AEO rotors. Thinking the 10mm class inrunners may not be up to the task, without excessive amp draw. I have Ammo 12mm, SA 14mm, and AEO C05M. I'm leaning towards the Ammo 12mm, as it has the lowest kv and is actually suited for higher loads. The SA 14mm is second due mostly to OD. Would require modding a shroud. I've had the C05M (AEO 27mm) on 3S and it humps under 6a. But I think the 10 blader on 2S would be a handful for it. Just thinking out loud.

I do have a 12mm mount version at Shapeways available: http://www.shapeways.com/model/44714...mm-motors.html
Using a larger or stronger motor is obviously better. I'll be going the35mm edf skyangel outrunner wound slightly hotter so it kicks on 2 cell.

Correction to my last post. The 14mm inrunner is used in the ArtTect F-86, not the Sky Angel (SA). Out the box it's 3S, but guys are going 4S. It may be a wolf in sheeps clothing and should match up good.

I have an older but hardly used medusa 12mm. I think the kv is 4400. 4 something. Is that too low for 3s. Im sure for 2s. I could make a 160 4s TP25c. IDK..

NC,

Ooooopppsss!!! Let the cat out da bag. Guess you figured a typo in the original post. No, this puppy is 14mm. Was thinking of lining one of the Art Tech shrouds with 1mm depron and having a go with it. Check out the Art Tech F-86 thread for link. On IPhone right now. Some good info. I was late to the party, but making up for it best I can. Chester2240 wised me up.

I just flew my MiG on 3S...What a HOOT!!!...I was using 180mAh NanoTech 25-40C batts...The power sure was nice with being able to go from level flight to a huge loop without having to gain speed before the manuever!!!...She pulled through the vertical with power alone...

The only complaint is that the flight time was reduced to about 1/2 of what I'm used to on 2S....

Yeah I get about 2:00 min on my 3S 180s. And Yes it is a complete blast to fly. It is not quite 1:1 but dang close. To me it is worth the motor/bearings needing to be replaced every 30-40 flights.

just built a new MiG15 today, 90.7grams AUW, 83g average thrust for 2 mins on 2S. worth more in the air i suspect.

1:1 P:W for the peak thrust
.91 is the average P:W

ran six TP325 2S 65C's lipos back to back, no issue. she topped in a 63mph with plenty of 55mph passes (rcspeedo). 60mph+ is now a regular thing and i can feel 65 is just within reach. flying with no nose cap, saves 2grams and i have gotten decent enough to not nose it into the ground anymore.

Without having to sift through tons of script---Can someone please provide a link where I can purchase the high RPM bearings???

The higher speeds are addictive and I'm thinking that I'll fly the MiG on 3S more 2S...Once you get that little taste.......
