I saw that Vess sales 50cc Balancing Rings
http://www.vesspropellers.com/servle...ce-Ring/Detail

do you guys use them, is it needed ?
should I be expecting to drill or modify the prop or it should fit as it is ?

TBone08,

I personally wouldn't bother with the balancing rings. All my vess props have been great for balancing with minimal sanding. With all larger props you have to drill the holes for the mounting bolts. I bought a adapter for a few dollars that keeps the holes where they should be when drilling.

Cheers

Here is one example from Hobbyking, great price. My friend bought this one where as I think I got mine from Troybuilt models. There was no difference in quality. Other than the HK one will work with a larger range of motors.

Falcon 23x9 carbon is a great prop for the DLE, and i've tried a lot of props.

TBone08,

The adapter I added a link to just helps you make sure that the holes you drill in the prop for the mounting bolts are in the correct spot, all the time every time you drill. I know it can be done with measuring and a drill press but its way to much work.

I noticed on my current prop I got this ring with 4 bolts.
how do I go about using a 50cc Vess balance ring with a new prop -
do I still use the ring I currently have in conjunction with the vess balance ring
or just the vess balance ring without this one ?

You would remove the ring you have and replace it with the balance ring.
