Videos - Weasel Wild & Weasel Smooth - flying the flag for the Queens diamond Jubilee

Its a Weasel "double bill"

"Jack" the Weasel flying the flag for the Queens Diamond Jubilee last weekend
Two very different ways of flying a Weasel - two very different British soundtracks.

Weasel Wild (3 min 7 sec)

Weasel Smooth (3 min 0 sec)

let me know what you think of them
and which you prefer

Sharp color scheme. Nice flying. I'll vote for smooth.

The coolest thing to me is the contrast between the two videos!

I love anything that shows how versatile a design can be, and how much is really left up to the pilot. These videos really nail that. Nice work!

Thanks for the comments guys - keep the "votes" coming

Thanks Steve - you've got it! - The Weasel Evo is so versatile. In the "smooth" video its flying with a steel rod wing joiner instead of the carbon tube, on low rates (with a very "light touch") - and its moving pretty fast - very different to how most Weasels fly (are flown). Both vids were in big wind, one rough inland air, one smooth sea air. Both sessions ended in typical British fashion - rained off.

Phil, did the steel joiner shove the CG forward? Looked like the Weasel was flying differently as well as being flown differently.

I preferred the faster vid, although was hoping the calmer vid would be 'bigger'.

CofG stays the same - which is good - its all about momentum, just like an F3F ship. Was about 25mph onto the sea cliff, but well off to the left, so not the best lift there. I have flown the Weasel there in 45mph - that was bigger - much bigger

Like Steve said........showing the range of capability of a single design(not to mention a single pilot) is outstanding. The next step in the program could be to combine both styles of flying into a single routine. Might work by using a middle weight joiner spar, waiting for just the right conditions in that smooth coastal air and flipping back and forth from low to high rates as you transition from one style of maneuver to the other. Having watched a bunch of your videos I know the talent is there. The toughest part would probably be finding a sound track that had as much dynamic shift as your flying.

Smoooooth, for me is much nicer to watch ( perhaps because of my age, I now like things that are really smooth ).
