I was able to get my DLG higher than usual at Joe Nall. Josh Price offered to throw my DLG on Friday during the afternoon. Prior to this I thought maybe I needed a lighter plane but deep down I know it was just my throwing ability. Josh proved that on the first throw. He must have put her up around 150 to 180 feet. Cruising around at that altitude really showed me what I have been missing out on with my low throws. Unfortunately he was throwing it so hard he ripped out the pegs but evidently the style of pegs on my DLG are prone to ripping off. I went to Skip Miller Models and ordered the Steigeisen Power Peg. I'll have to get the Dremel tool out and do some wing work but I'm anxious to get the plane back in the air and see if I can get better altitudes!

It was your post about flying DLGs last summer that made me finally give it a try. Today, I fly DLGs to the exclusion of nearly everything else. Late this month I'm headed to my first big contest, The Bruce. It would be really cool if you managed to head down there and cover the event for RCG... It would be even more cool if you flew with us.

She isn't fixed yet. The Steigeisen peg was on back order. It's here now. All I have to do is muster up the courage to cut into my wing!

It was great to meet you Mr. Wiz! I did manage to grab a new DLG before I left. It was Oleg's back up plane when he competed - Taboo GT. I thought I would get to throw it today but my rx won't fit! DOH! I'll do a post on that when I get it going. Sorry I didn't get to fly but it took all the time I had to get my photos.

Don't apologize... It was just nice to see The Bruce get some RCG recognition. Not many DLG events get any coverage at all. To me, having you there means that F3K is now on the greater R/C community's radar. That's great! I saw my ugly mug in a couple of your photos. That was cool too.

The Taboo GT is an excellent plane. In fact, that was my very first DLG last year. Mine was considerably beat up and it still flew great. That one you bought looked to be in perfect condition. I think you'll find that it's an amazing "light air" plane. That being that it signals light lift like no other. That's a plus for somebody just learning to read the air with their plane.
