Thanks guys,

David, she is running a turnigy 3542 1000KV motor on 3S, with a 12 x 6 prop. this combo is good for 400W on my meter, it works out to about 70W/lb a happy medium between just enough, and way too much, she loops from level at full power, but cruises nicely at a bit over half throttle. she is a pretty draggy airframe with that bullish front end plus spats. got a couple of flight in this morning with her, takeoffs were a bit better, still gets of sharply, landings are my favourite with this, come in with some power on , flair just before touchdown, she settles then sticks like the proverbial to a shovel, and runs out straight and true, makes a hack like me look good
Pete did a great job with this one, she flys more like a sports plane than one of his usual biplane types, i was a lucky fella indeed! hopefully will have some pics from today that i can upload soon.

Cheers
Craig

Better Late Than Never

When Craig commenced his Maiden I was still in transit and arrived just in time to grab my camera and catch the landing. Unfortunately because of computer issues I have been unable to upload the video to my computer until today. As I said, better late than never, and this landing was too good not to have been caught on screen.
Well done Craig!

A sweeter, smoother landing on a maiden, one could not hope to do.

Its like the builder and his baby are somehow connected..... lol

Craig, If I could manage a landing on grass like that every time, I'd be a very happy chappy

Cheers for the video Ingo, Splinta and Tom were busy filming some nice shrubbery by that stage
Thanks guys, she does land quite nicely, I was pretty careful to not bang her in with the wheel pants, still have to try out the flaps, see how they affect things.

The weather gods finally threw up a good day to coincide with my time off so i didn't waste it and got the Heinkel up a few times, one of the guys at the oval was good enough to get a vid of one of the flights for me, including a not so perfect landing, oh well ya can't have everything

Beautiful plane, Craig! At our flying session this morning we had a discussion about what countries have lots of modelers and came to the conclusion that Australia probably has more active modelers per capita than almost any other country! Hi from Virginia!

Cheers guys, Pat i would be suprised if this was really the case, your AMA really seems to do a good job at promoting the hobby. our MAAA does nothing apart from wan't money every year, after they have it they do nothing in the way of improving or making more attractive to new guys. a shame really!

I agree wholeheartedly Craig - but we do have a thriving RC culture if you consider how many local clubs there are (in the East anyway) Our Canberra region has about six active clubs from about 300K people.
