Handles great... other guys say it flies (jumps) better than the short course trucks. There's a huge learning curve if you really want to tweak these things for racing... I'm just what they call "bashing" with it... no organized racing. It's a blast. I've already spent a small fortune on 3rd party wheels and tires for running on different surfaces... and this winter I'll buy some sand paddles for the rear or spike some tires... or make chains!
The word is, It's one of the most durable surface RC's out there right now... I haven't broken anything major on it yet... took a chip out of the chassis in a non-critical area... CA'd the piece back in. Lots of screws/bolts though that go into plastic threads that can strip out... but there are solutions to overcome that.
Have been hanging out in some other forums learning about these things... heat is the enemy... kills motors... I've geared down my pinion by 2 teeth to keep things on the cool side... less top speed but great torque and acceleration.
Will be making a video soon down in a popular ravine here in town... has paved and dirt bike/pedestrian trails with a creek and bridges and multiple levels... cool place... my job takes me through it every day so I've been scoping out locations
By the way, my new Champ is equally my favorite RC... but my buggy is all-weather, especially since waterproofing the electronics I'll add more pics soon with the LED lights turned on

- Traxxas Velineon 3500 waterproof brushless motor.
- HPI Flux Reload v2 waterproof 60A ESC (re-branded Hobbywing)
- Traxxas TQi 2.4ghz radio system with 5ch receiver and use my iPod Touch 4G on the dock with telemetry for motor temperature and battery voltage. I use the Traxxas waterproof receiver box.
- Gens Ace 2S 5000mah 40C lipos.
- Thunder Power TP610C ACDC charger. The Thunder (not Thunder Power) AC6 and AC680 from hobbypartz are good cheaper options.
When it was still brushless I tried various brushless motors in it. Stock Losi, HPI Firebolt 540 15T, Traxxas Titan 550 12T. Burned out the Losi. Shattered a brush on the HPI. Didn't use the Titan long enough to know how long it lasts... it came in my Slash, it's powerful.
Bashing, not racing.
