FyreSG don't worry, take a look at the pic I posted...the new canopy is mostly yellow so it'll be very visible =] after all, it is named after the sun!

That flies very similar (but better) than my modded V911 with paddles and MSRx swashplate. Having molded paddles makes for consistent\guaranteed balance, whereas mine may be off by a hair or two.

Could someone grab that video and repost as youtube vid? I have a firewall that blocks the original site. Thanks.

Assuming the weight hasn't increased (compared to v911) appreciably.

BTW, I googled 'Helios 100' and found it's a name for a road bike, and a name for a British Petro (BP) website.

I'm not THAT thrilled watching that, it reminded me of my V911 and I don't even have paddles installed. Same maneuverability and speed (well from that short video it seemed so, hard to compare to real life though). In my head I was just wondering what would the advances be that would make me want to order this one (besides curiosity ). I like my V911 and it it's quite similar I don't see a reason to get a new one? Or what do you guys see as the main improvements? Most V911 problems we've got solved ourselves by modding the heck out of it!

True! We can only hope that the weight is not too disimilar. The skids look more robust and the paddles could be a little more weight but hopefully not significant enough to cut the flight time.

There was a point on the protocol being copyrighted / patented by someone else. I don't think it matters because WLtoys is using the same protocol for their own line of helicopters -- WLtoys V911 and WLtoys Helios 100. Unless... V911 and Helios 100 belong to different companies?

And even so, as long as both companies approve of the use of the protocol, no legal entity is going to complain. Furthermore, they are very good friends. I know the boss has made up his mind so there's nothing much we can do, but I just hope they can understand the benefits of "unification" (统一). It benefits everyone.
Well, WL toys seems to have used flysky's protocol for the V911, and same thing for the 9958. So why can't they do it for this new one?
If it'll bind to the 9X, and not priced too much higher then the v911 (and/or sold as BNF) im defs gonna buy it, my v911 got retired last week

I think it's hard to tell the difference between V911 and Helios 100 from a video. For example, I watched the video of Align Trex 100S, which is the "real deal", yet I don't think it looks significantly better than the V911. But people have feedback that the USD 100+ Trex flies better than V911. There is a limit to what videos can show, when it comes to 4ch fixed pitched helicopters.

Hard to tell for sure, but the flybar looks a bit shorter than the V911. If so, that alone should reduce flybar strikes.

Does the Helios 100 head have a feathering shaft?

If it does fly better than my modded V911, I might consider transplanting its modded V911 Rx which has overcurrent fuses & plug n play connectors to a Helios 100 frame to use my 9x Tx.

Paddles won't work on a V911, it has a 45 offset flybar.
