Utility boat "joker"

Hey out there,

Thought I'd post a few pic's of my just finished utility boat "JOKER". I picked up this hull from Kay Tillman in the Inland nautical Society in Riverside CA, a couple of years ago. I finally decided to do something with it, and this is what happened . I cut down the bulwark all the way around except for the bow. The deck, cabin, cabin roof, and stern access hatch are "Lexan", the windows, and door are wood doll house pieces. The bow and stern bits are cast aluminium. Power is a large Johnson motor, with a 12v 4.5 amp gel sell. Scale is 1/12th. Length is 20", beam is 10". I still had to add 1 1/2 lbs in the stern to get it to the waterline. It kind of reminds me of a springer with a conventional hull.

Thanks guys. I will post an interior shot tonight (it's pretty messy). Manny, I had the large H bit cast from a master that Bob Herrera made many years ago at a local foundry. Don't think they're interested in making anymore. I still have a couple left. I cut one apart to make the single one on the bow. She gets a litle water inside from over the deck; I need to seal it better.

Mariner,

Ok, you asked for it. here's an interior shot . I hate doing wiring . This is why I never like to show the inside of my boats. I am the KING of cold solder joints . Anyway, the motor is a large low rpm "Johnson", speed control is Vantec (my favorite ), battery is a 12v, 4.5 amp gel sell, receiver is Spectrum, rudder servo is from one of my "re-kitted" airplanes . I still enjoy designing, building/painting more than the rc work. Thank's again for the kind words guys.
