Looking for a way to transmit video from my Sony Nex5n to my 900mhz video TX

I saw a really cool video of someone flying their hexacopter and put it in GPS mode and had a video downlink and with the gimbal could just sit in mid-air and pan and tilt around and look what's being filmed by looking into his monitor. Ans was also able to zoom.

Someone also posted this photo of a notched ring around the focus and zoom, I wonder how I could attach a servo and make use of the rings (I Googled it but didn't find where you can get them) I just don't have the proper name.

I'm looking for a inexpensive way to do that.
Someone suggested this HDMI to analog converter and run the cable into my 900mhz video TX and see whatever the camera sees from my monitor on the ground. And hoping I still have remote shutter and video capability with the HDMI cable plugged in.

Or maybe a poor man’s way, I wonder if I can use my KX191 FPV camera (that's connected to my video TX) mounted behind the viewfinder and just have it focused on the viewfinder. I don't need a perfect picture, just want to see what's in the frame. Maybe I could come up with some kind of L or U bracket that could attach to the FPV camera and Sony with STRONG double sided tape and and some kind of cover to keep sunlight out so I could see the viewfinder better.
Hmmm, wonder if that would work?

I have a GentLed that works awesome so I have remote photo/video on and off capability.

I'm not too worried about weight or space as I have the new DJI S800 and it's a friggn monster that's just about 4ft in diameter from the props

Hi Jasper

This has been discussed a few times on here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1606521

See my post in this thread for a summary:

I'm using an HDMI to Composite converter which then feeds into a 5.8GHz transmitter. I haven't got it completely wired up yet, but so far it looks like it will work very well

I've seen those toothed belts for camera zoom / focus rings here:

If this is the video you are thinking about:

MikroKopter - Zoom (6 min 26 sec)

then I believe he is using an infrared interface to control the zoom (the camcorder has an electronic zoom, not a manual zoom like the Nex5N lenses).

Cheers!

David

PS. Awesome platform you've bought there – very sleek
