It was an oversight. I am sure I use flaps on at least one of the flights though.
Yes I am very fortunate to have such a field

The speed range seems great ! This is the sk3 1900? Been wanting this bird so much but wanting to stick with 6s... this just might get me to fire away and buy the bird this week

The only mod I remember making was the sanding of the intakes like Vettster did:

and a hole I made in one of the intake ducts to place the ESC against for cooling...oh, and of course making sure the jet landing gear make the jet relatively level for take off.

As for the easy nose gear platform fix I simply made two matching 1/16" thin plywood planks, glued them one on top of the other and epoxied them into the nose where I mounted the nose gear at the right height.

Good Stuff! Urrl. Glad your having fun with it now.

Full flaps will not do anything to the pitch of the plane. They are very effective. You should be able to land at 1/4 the speed you did in the video.

Giv er!!

If anyone has a spare canopy I'd be interested in buying. I pressed mine with the hand and cracked it. Be careful how you hold this jet folks.

My last video, the first flight I made at dawn was in a low fog across the field, and I had serious trouble trying to see the jet approaching. Today I put in some headlights.

These bulbs are from my Airfield Stuka which got pulverized by a gas powered jet if I didn't mention it before. They have lenses at the tip of the bulb which concentrates the light into a forward beam. I had these on my last L-39 and they were terrific. I think Radio Shack sells these also. Notice the "RESCUE" arrow on the tip tank, which covers the drilled hole where I used a coat hanger to pull the light bulb wires through. I didn't want to go through the hassle of removing the glued tip tanks and this method made the work much easier. I can easily find a better decal for the tip tank but for now the one I have is OK with me.

Great flight Urrl,

It looks like it was way out there.

CG is set at 72mm from the leading edge wing cover plate. I got this point from Herb’s built tips. I moved the ESC from the back of the wing to the front and changed the receiver batt to one that was 2.6oz. to get It to balanced with a 4500mA batt. It would have been easier with a 5000.

Looking good Jeff!

Was Herb's measurement done with the model inverted? I could make a difference if it was.

Great flying Urrl!

Kevin,

This is the post from Herb that I used as reference; it looks like it’s a measurement from the bottom. Thanks for your input.

I'm thinking of increasing the CG from 55mm as I noticed Herb in his post on a different thread set his at about 75mm.

Edit: I see he is measuring from the bottom leading edge center of the wing to 75mm but when I measure from wing root out to 240mm then 55mm from leading edge at that location our CG location is about the same.

I may try 60mm and see how that goes. Meanwhile too windy this morning; big cold front coming in, so I just did a little video to showcase the new lighting I've added.

I trimmed the ducts also , opened them up nicely , should provide more air flow. If the weather holds out I'll maiden tomorrow .

If the weather holds today , I'm thinking of maidening
Just a quick question
For those that have used flaps on landing , does this model require any down or up elevator with flaps ? I just prefer to mix it in and thought maybe a little down was in order. Thanks for the help
