Hello Kris.
Your antennas have been made and individually tested as usual. These are your green anteannas, you asked for 2450 (lawmate ch3), as you can see the SWR on 2450 is as low as is humanly possible 1.15:1 www.fpvlr.com - your custom fpv antennas |

And if you ever wonder why people are weary of 5.8 antennas being put together without testing equipment ( I use a different swr meter for the 5.8 frequency, not the one in the picture), you can see why in the picture.
It happens often (1 in 3 or 1 in 4 ) that I can't tune the antenna in a satisfactory way, and that's using the same gigs, the same connectors, same coax etc. It's the mistery of 5.8, sometimes all it takes is half a millimeter mistake, a bigger than normal blob of solder and NO amount of glue will help me tune the 5.8 antenna, even if I get it down to 1.7:1 - 1.6:1 SWR , which is useable... this is what happens to those sub-standard antennas. 4 heads chopped off, and that's easily a full day of work thrown in the bin. |

I am introducing a very light weight Yagi for 980-1010 mhz (ch 1 and ch2 of 900mhz
foxtec/sunsky tx) cnc cut out of g10 for perfect spacing, the elements are 2mm aluminum, enamel coated and the feeding dipole is made of 1.6 mm copper. The weight of the antenna including a 30cm long coax and SMA male connector is only 21 grams that's a breeze even for an antenna tracker with micro servos. Gain is adequate between 8 and 9 dbi (simulation shows 8.5dbi) It's comparable with a 8dbi patch but the patch weights 1500grams (1.5kg). This one of course is more fragile as the elements can bend easily if it falls or it's hit but they bend right back to position, so no worry. www.fpvlr.com - your custom fpv antennas |

Newest addition to our offerings is this 12 turn antenna, just test flown this morning without an optimized pinwheel on the tx side... 10.8km before snow effect convinced me to turn back, and that's on 200mw foxtec tx..
My area has a pretty high noise floor on 5.8 , since the wind turbines communicate on this frequency, so you might be able to get more - 15-16 km in a clean area.. that's my estimate on 200mw system www.fpvlr.com - your custom fpv antennas |

Would it be possible to make a custom order? If you could I would really appreciate that. I have a helical antenna already but I am just not sure how well I built it. It is 15 turn 1.3ghz but it is not a huge cannon because I spaced the turns close to each other, don't know how good that is.
Anyways, would you be able to make a custom helical antenna for 1.3ghz for me? I need as many turns as is reasonable (for most gain I assume), RHCP, long SMA cable, 1320Mhz, and a sturdy (ideally thick plywood) reflector base where I could screw in my clamp. Please let me know if this is possible at this moment or if not when you will be able to make one. Thanks. |

Yes I have a few requests in that respect. If the turns are closely spaced than it can't be too good. Normally for any helical the turn pitch angle is beween 12° and 14° to work. That would really make a 1320 mhz helical about 75cm long at least. 75cm is very very long and a problem to ship. My cnc working area is 52cm x30cm, that means the most I could safely make is a 9 turn. It's also important for these antennas to use a thick wire for reasonable wideband operation. Several antennas are on the way,
John, the 12 turn helical from a few posts above is coming to Virginia, The purple set with the 8 turn helical for Tecnodrone is coming too, and Nathan, your blue 5.8 set is ready, I am happy with SWR on these, you will love them too. You are the first customer from the Asian continent, and with this I have all 5 inhabited continents accounted for. ![]() I am happy to have at least one my antennas in each continent
