I just got my 12 turn helical from Tony and finally got crisp video that I wasn't getting with the BlueBeam pair I got from ibcrazy. I'm using the 3 lobe cloverleaf on the plane and 12 turn on the tracker and lobe skew planar wheel for the second channel on the immersion duo5800. Before the 12 turn arrived, I was getting a very shaky 1km in very noise free environment on immersion 600mW 5.8GHz vTx. Now I've went to 2km with clear signal all the way. Now that I'm out of range of my xBee's 900Mhz signal I use for the antenna tracker, I need to increase it's range so I don't lose tracking!

Or just go with 2 12 turn helicals and diversity and fly out "in front" of yourself. You'll have a VERY wide beamwidth coverage area to fly in. Especially as you get a bit farther away from yourself.

And if you do decide to fly past yourself, just reach out and manually turn the antennas. If your antenna tracker fails on you, you're screwed. With diversity and manually adjusting the antennas, you don't have to worry about failures (well, THOSE kind of failures, anyway).

Hello Dag,
your helical 5.8 8 turns for fatshark mounting is ready.
I used semi-rigid rg-402 cable which is rigid enough to hold its weight well without deforming and can be bent to any inclination you choose.

Hello this is the first set that goes out with a proprietaray radome that protects the antennas from mishaps, at least you can bang them around a bit more without the fear of them catching onto something and ripping some of the lobes off.

Corrado, here is your set!
