Picked it up first thing this morning at the local post office on the way to work.
Nice heavy duty outer cardboard box, no sign of any drop/damage.
The post office informed me that it was sent Express Mail, which is the fastest method, which is why it went from New York to Massachusetts overnight.

I will unbox it tonight and take a look....no, I am not waiting for XMAS morning on this one.

It looks like it! did not know they made it in red bull colors...

So it appears we are the only people to actually have these planes here in the USA, and any others are just drop shipping from China.

Well here is a short report on my experience with this plane and AppleHobby.com. I ordered the plane MLK day (Monday) and it shipped the next day. I received it from USPS the following Monday. Everything was packed very nice and my extra props I ordered were in the same box. The plane it self is gorgeous in person. The foam is so tight and feels very "heavy" in your hand. Very sturdy. The other warbirds I have PZ P-47 and Durafly P-51 are not as sturdy feeling as this. Building it was very straight forward but the instructions are junk. I used epoxy not the supplied glue per Rich and his build. One nice thing is that UM sends extra parts with the model...horns, hinges, screws etc. This came in handy as one of my flap hinges was broken out of the box. I emailed sales@applehobby at 7 at night and within 5 minutes had a reply then 2,3,4,5 replies talking me through removing the old hinge and installing the spare. Fantastic support! You can imagine how I felt thinking I had to go to bed worrying about that hinge I really appreciated that service. I ran it on the watt meter with a 4s 2200 and it came in at 33 amps and 489 watts. The battery was used during setup so was not 100% but probably 95%. I left the ordinance off until I see the performance.

One thing that wasn't included was color matching tape to cover the wires under the wings. That was a disappointment. Anyone have a matching color for this model yet...thanks in advance.

I still have to check cg and balance the prop but overall I'm very pleased with the model and cant say enough about Apple Hobby! Attached are photos of my plane and some photos I took of the real plane at Oshkosh in 2011...enjoy!

I've used blue electrical tape... It is remarkably close.
