ExtremeFlight 48in Edge 540 elevator repair.
Hi all,
Sharing a repair done on an elevator for a 3D model. I had never seen an elevator built up like this. Light and pretty strong for its purpose.   Ultracote cut away to see the damage. The elevator was completely broken away held by the covering.   Broken pieces carefully cut away as clean as possible and used for templates for new pieces. Replacing them stronger than glueing and recovering. The trailing edge of the elevator spliced with stiff balsa as well with CA glue and sanded to conform.  Some reinforcement to the outer leading edge of the elevator.  Assembly with CA glue.  Ultracoted to match. Safe flying, Shaz- |
