i agree and when there are more and more GPS systems out there like align, skookum and others to come they won't have a choice and they wil have to put out a cheaper system for helis or fall by the way side, i mean when your one of many what would you do about it ? besides that the WooKong-H doesn't really fit nicely in say a 450 size heli like a system like the Naza would, IMO they meed to reduce the size of there heli system to something more comparable to aligns or skookums or only sell that system to users with a camera ship which isn't a huge market, heck if they could get the size way down i'd find a way of getting the money and buy one myself !!!

From what I've heard it has to plug into the 3GX unit to work right. However I'm not entirely sure. I'm positive that somebody will find out eventually once Align posts some more information!

i seen the aps on a site for $671.99 last night when i was surfing around...can't remember what site it was but its the lowest price i have seen it for..They had it listed as out of stock tho....price might change when they get them in stock after Align releases them...

It works with 3GX only. I asked them about flybar head compatibility and they have not tested it. Theoretically it should, as the gyro doesn't know what kind of mechanical system you have, as long as it can detect left/right/forward/backward commands and make the proper compensation.

When I think about the price point of the Align system, it is a "deal breaker" for now. I am confident that for half or less than that amount one could contract an experienced heli pilot at a local club for ten private lessons to teach the skills required. Just a thought. This would also save the inevitable frustrations of installing and configuring the Align system. I have read the manual and there are some challenges involved.

good for ap stuff. but not looking for the align fb unit. will wait for something that will work with a flybar at that retail price point. as far as $1000, that depends.

APS requires throttle calibration despite the fact, that neither 3GX nor APS knows anything of proper setting and/or control of specific ESC used (need not to be a CC) .
APS requirement of setting 0% ... 100% straight line for throttle in Normal FM contradicts requirements of CC ESC for proper configuration for governor usage .
That's the reason why my ESC is connected directly to the RX, not through the 3GX unit, without any glitch . I'm not sure, whether this would survive connection of the APS unit, i.e. whether the APS unit would initialize properly with throttle lead NOT connected to the 3GX unit, i.e. WITHOUT previous throttle calibration .
Nevertheless, as far as I know, current version of 3GX firmware DO NOT CARE about throttle values, so we can probably set the throttle curves to desired values 30-30-30, 80-80-80 & 100-100-100 suitable for the CC ESC governor.


APS requirement of 30 seconds of "quiet" flying prior to switching to APS mode degrades usability of bailout function for sport and/or 3D flying .


missing inverted stabilization, compared with Helicommand HC3-SX .

missing altitude improvement prior to stabilization during bailout
