So I guess everyone is happy with their HF gimbal?? How s the new firmware doing for you? I updated and my roll got dialed in which I had no success with in 0.91. Havent tried to see how it hold center when yawing yet.

when did the new firmware drop?

ill have to look for it.

mine is very close (still getting some roll/yaw coupling) i have moved the board away from the camera and I am getting less coupling.

i hooked up my Rx to the board today (using a different battery so no common ground and I only hooked up the singal wire) and it worked but it was behaving weird. It I am going to try moving the power to the HF Gimbal board and isolate the servos from the power and see if that works. I might try and power my servos off the flight pack an not a separate battery (might make a difference)

so if there is a new firmware ill update tomorrow and report back!

Im extremely happy with the way iy functions on the bench but i still cant get it to hold a nice horizon, im not sure if its so much a yaw issue anymore... Im thinkin my mounting location or vibes, mine is ontop of my av200 just left of the mounting arm, i fabbed i little CF plate. I can post a pic tomorrow. I have no idea how to mount it otherwise, in the manual they show them holding it on the front of the gimbal, how would a guy attach it double sided tape lol

yeah not sure.

i get good results on the bench as well and it wigs out a little in the air.... i am thinking this board is just more sensitive to EMI or something than other other boards (not sure why that would be technically)

i find the farther away from the camera the better it works....

Latest video shot with the HF G. Still getting some drift with roll and I think even some on tilt.... Hmm

Movements are super smooth though.

Nice shots. Looks like you've got it dialed in pretty close. The new v0.92 update is supposed to fix the accumulation problem. I've seen the several times, even on the ground, as I was adjusting the gains. After making big platform movements, you could see that the "ball" was off by 4-5 degrees, usually in the roll axis for me. Rebooting cleared up the error each time. I haven't tried v0.92 yet, but I'm glad to see they found this error.

Not sure what you can do about the yaw-roll coupling, unless you simply move the board as far away from the camera as you can. Mine is now at the back of our gimbal, above the roll servo.

Below are my last two videos. There's a bit of wind-related bounces that we are working on tuning out, but I had no problem with the HF Gimbal board holding the horizon.

AG550V2 PJ 2 Axis PJ710V Gimbal Test 01 (2 min 42 sec)

Today I will try and get v0.92 loaded up.

Yeah I moved my board up over the too servo.

I am using a short battery tray so it is as far back as I can get it.

I'll try the new firmware and cross my
Fingers.

I do love how smooth everything is....

Hey Gary are you powering the HF gimbal and servos off your flight pack or that separate pack?

Guys don't forget that the HoverflyGIMBAL does NOT regulate power to your servos and receiver. You must supply the HoverflyGIMBAL with the voltage needed for the servos and receiver. If your receiver needs a max of 6V and your servos need 7.4V then you must power your receiver with a separate supply and cut the power wires to the HoverflyGIMBAL.

yeah Al i know... i am running my HF Gimbal off a CC BEC @ 6v

but i do have weird issue if i power the HF Gimbal off a separate pack than my Rx.... when i hook my signal wire up for tilt control it is really twitchy and random movements possibly because it does not have a common ground?

do signal wires need to have common ground

after some more test flight today mine still has trouble holding level on both roll and tilt. I will try a bit more on vibrations but i dont know what else to do really. Im not sure where else to mount it on my setup to try that route. unless i come way up top over my wkm imu, that or under and on the camera tray?

i have been seeing some EMI type interference with either the camera or my motors and the board....

I found getting the board far away from the camera the better the results i have....

cant really explain it
