Exactly!!

I would have thought that the pan axis would have been the easiest to develop to do that but I'm not an ee so my opinion on that may not have any weight.

Could you find the time to do that now the pan stabilization is working?

Is pan hooked up to the mag only? Or is it true stabilization with gyros doing most of the work?
I will get my buddy to video mine yawing in flight and you can see how it works. Ill upload it in an hour or so

gyro wont hold it still, accelerometers are needed to keep it still.

the HF G has all the sensors needed and Twister has made it clear to the HF team that it is not working correctly in real world applications. Hopefully they will release a new firmware along with the v2 of the controller that fixes the issue.

I was thinking about that but Im not sure, I have never tried to hook up a continuous rotation servo to a normal heli gyro. If someone wants to send me one I will try it lol but I only have a vbar sitting here.

I really hope I don't have to buy a V2 to get the expected Pan functionality. I've only just purchased the 1.0 primarily to get that pan functionality.

Lets just wait for Al to let us know what we've all been asking.

I am not saying that it will be a hardware issue needing v2.... Psionic I am saying that since we know they are developing a v2 of the hardware that they are also working on the firmware and hopefully with newer firmware the pan performance will get better.

the v1 has all the hardware needed, Mag, Acc, Gyro

You can see towards the end it starts freaking out while doing a continuous circle. It also would drift a little bit while panning in the beginning. Easiest way to know what stick inputs I was giving is that when the multi is turning, I had the gimbal board in auto compensate mode. When the gimbal is turning and multi is still that is when i would have my buddy control the gimbal with auto compensate turned off.

Finally someone has shown a real video of yaw in action with this HFG.

To me that gimbal behaviour looked totally unusable.

You should see what happens when you yaw left and right.

I spoke with Dan last night and have emailed him my video and told him about yours doing it with av200. He was supposed to email me back this afternoon but I have yet to hear from him.

Hi,

I'm still having trouble with the new HFG on an AV200. Software version 1.03, Hardware 1.0

The Roll is very slow and the roll gains do not actually change the speed of the roll. The other roll settings work.

The tilt is working fine and works as expected with all the software functions.

The pan is just not working right and seems to be magnetometer only functionality which will never work for Pro AP.

Could someone help me:
1) get the roll working at expected levels
2) Let me know if gyro will ever be incorporated into Pan Stabilisation?

Cross posted this with MRF.

Thanks

Matt
