I took the Sabre out for a little run on a 180mah 25C 3S this morning. Man! was it fun! The fan really sang at WOT and it tore across the sky. Got some video of it on Ozzi's cam.

It opened a few eyes to what the Sabre is capable of too!

But I digress.... Anyone already building an F-35 here?

Wow witch fan unit did he let you borrow to get 100gr thurst out of a 180mah 3s lipo"thats alot of thurst for such a small lipo". Nitro how does the GP fan do on 3s do you think the motor will last long on that much voltage?

Im haveing some troubles figureing how the buttom pieces are supose to go together, could you explain alittle bit how its done?

It's the GP Sabre fan unit Seans using!

The lipo is not coming down much more than a little warm so the current can't be significant. The motor is a little tough nut for sure.

Likewise, I am staring at the F-35C drawings and trying to piece it all together in my mind but am missing a few steps and pieces which I don't recognise where they would go. We may need building instructions, or at least a few arrows.

yeah was thinking the same thing!
How much does the 10in airframe weigh without any electronics(i was thinking 12g to 15gr)?

Im thinking super light weight, 1s pusher with the AP-03 7000 with a 3020 prop. I bet i can get the F-35 rtf 30gr or less with my idea!

AU117,

Your design of the TV is so simple, it's brilliant!!! The best form of flattery is to copy or build on another's idea. I'm definitely going to include your TV in my future builds. I'd also like to hear more about the 3S runs of the GP EDF unit. I have a couple of the Hyperion 180mAh 3S batts and a couple of GP EDFs. Looks like I need to get building. And thanks for posting the build pics. More to come...

Chester2240,

Go with the AP-03 4000kV on 2S and same prop. You'll never regret it.

NC,

Gonna put you up for a micro pioneer award. You keep pushin and helping others out. Got my eye on ya!!!

Thanks ksqm and can't agree with you more about Nitro. He stepped right up and helped a newbie out. I was always very apprehensive about doing something like this but have appreciated all the shared drawings and ideas here on RC groups. Thanks Nitro and everyone else for your nice comments and interest. More pics are on the way and then I will install verbiage as needed. I got side tracked today, a Fly-Eagle F-35 found its way to my shop and on fathers day.

I've started mine. I have opted to use a 25mm EDF unit I have here that I built last year. It's 7 grams lighter than the 28mm unit I was going to put in it. I'll hopefully get some photo's up soon.

sorry for the slow reply to many pots on the fire. Thanks Chester. park jets and RC groups is such a wealth of information. Very cool paint schemes. I'm going to do the blue tail yellow Lightning bolt on the first C model and then another scheme for posting. I was looking at most likely a Blue Angel to go with the Thunder Bird. But now you've got me thinking.
Nitro how much thrust does the 25 mm put out on 2s and then 3s? Pictures please. Got a chance to test fly the c model sweet, rock solid, hand launches nice. Roll rate is weaker but very controllable. It goes slow and on the 3 cell omg. straight up.The larger wings grove thru loops and reversals. If you want to roll do the A model. Hope to have video soon. And will be posting more build pics and decals. thanks, Sean
