Biplane PITTS-EPP from Hobbyking
To stiffen the wings I replaced the gf-rods by cf-ones and I took one D05010MG (5.7g) metal-gear-servo for each aileron.
Here's a short video of the maiden which was a little
bit disturbed by one jitering aileron:
Maiden flight of Hobbykings Pitts-EPP in Viennas Donaupark (8th of may 2012).
Filmed with the HD-KeyChainCam 808 #11 fixed to a headband.
Wind was around 10km/h.
One of the top wings aileron wasn't well joint to the lower wings aileron
leading to some unpredictable turnings around the long axis.
Motor: 2212 1400kV Brushless outrunner (stock)
TURNIGY Basic 18A v3.1 Speed Controller
Propeller: 9x5 (GWS-DD-9050)
Battery: 3s-1000mAh (25C) Lipo
Tx: Spektrum Dx6i
I used, contrary to the one-servo configuration suggested in the construction
manual, two 5,7g metal-gear-servos (D05010MG from Hobbyking) for the ailerons.
With the experience of some flights I moved the CG to 10mm behind the leading edge of the lower wing. This could be achieved by using two 3s1p-1000mAh (25C) Lipos - 83g each. AUW is now 569g.
