Help!
Dle 55 how can do I use crank pressure for smoke?

I'd like to try and use the crankcase pressure to pump the smoke oil before I spend extra money on a pump. I have the dubro super smoke valve and sullivan check valve. So the question is how do I tap into the crank pressure. There's a fuel line that goes from plastic reed spacer to the carb is this crank pressure ? If so do I just simply unplug one side and use the other to go to the tank or do I use a tee fitting in between the two.

"Crankcase pressure" would be tapped from the bottom end. Expect something in the range of 7-10psi or so, and it will be pulse on the downstroke and you'll need the checkvalve. Crank case pressure is a kind of medium pressure. Mufflers are low pressure in the 3psi range, Timed crankcase pressure (i.e. a pressure tap on the opposite side of the crank from a front induction engine's carb) can be in the 15PSI range..

Thanks I do t want to drill and tap the case on a new motor so I think I'm gonna just buy a pump. I was hoping that fuel line would make it easy but i found out that the fuel line is sort of a fuel bypass and I can't use it. So pump it is

Thanks for the info.

There appears to be a small casting boss with a depression in it on the case just above and to the right of the carb (looking at the engine from the rear) that would be ideal for a pressure tap nipple.

You might ask the DLE people if it can be used for a pressure tap. If they'd sanction its use, your warranty would probably stay intact.
