Question
Turnigy 9x and Double Horse 9116 rudder problem

Hello Everyone,
I purchased a 9116 and was disappointed that the controller will not store the settings after the xmitter is turned off. I own a Turnigy 9x and found that it will bind with the 9116, but will not control the tail rotor motor (rudder). Has anyone found a solution? Thanks much for any help.

I dunno why the tx won't save the settings once you've adjusted them. You have to hit the menu button to save it, but I guess you've already tried that.

I don't have a turnigy 9x, but some DH9116 owners have and they too have the same problem with the rudder.

Maybe ask the question in the DH9116 thread, as you may get a better response.

I should have elaborated on the settings. The stock radio will not save the trim tab settings. I wonder if the receiver board in the 9116 is the same as the one installed in the new 9117? The 9117 appears to use the same xmitter as the 9116.

No, on start up, it defaults the trims back to zero, but will save the sub-trim in the program settings.

If the swashplate is setup properly, you shouldn't need to adjust the stick trims or sub-trim settings, the only sub-trim you should have to set is the rudder sub-trim. If you are hovering a fair bit, then yes the stick trim may need to be constantly tweaked, otherwise you'll have to do it via the stick, which is the best method anyway, rather than try to get the heli to fly itself, which defeats the purpose of having any control over the heli.
