Liberal Pundit Discovers The New World

From time immemorial (or at least as long as there have been budget charlatans) we've heard reductions in increases trumpted as spending 'cuts'. (The same argument has applied to 'austerity' (smaller increases in spending) in much of Europe)

But this guy doesn't like the ad which is going to run in Florida against "OKare yes" man, Senator Ben Nelson. The ad notes that 500 Billion in 'cuts' will occur to fund ObamaKare.

What does this author have to say?

Quote:
Nelson’s legal team is warning Florida television stations not to run the ad because the claim about Medicare cuts is literally untrue—the program is still going to get bigger every year; the $500 billion is just a reduction in expected growth.
It's nice to see a 'progressive' suddenly see the light...

Goat... I really needed to add one more comment... the article gave plenty of room for modern liberalism to challenge...

The truth is only used by the progressives when it suits their needs.

We know it's false. Cuts in increases have never been spending cuts.

Nor is the European 'austerity' what it is claimed to be...it is, in all cases I am aware of, also merely reductions in increases.

But when democrats usually talk about cuts in spending it is almost always on future spending and not real cuts. Its pretty hypocritical for him to say he didn't vote to cut medicare.
