I am also waiting on some money to grow on my tree to purchase some more items for my kit. That tree hasn't been growing much this year!

I've got everything picked out, just have to get everything little by little. I'm selling some things on ebay right know and waiting to see what I'll wind up with to buy parts.

That's a nice looking Align frame. You gonna use that instead of the EXI or a combination of the 2?

My tree went bare also. Piece by piece she'll come along. I'm gonna build the exi first and leave it FB, then wants I beat the living crap out of it and gain some skill I'll build the Align and go FBL since it has the fbl head. It was a pro 3gx (boys from HF helped me with that).

Hey there neighbor! Welcome! Doesn't seem to be too many of us heli pilots around these parts, at least not that I've been able to find. Glad to know there is someone nearby.

I'm in Huntersville, I fly at Waymer (mostly, planes at least) but sometimes fly at Shuffletown Park off of 485. That's where I'm going to practice with the helis more. Perfectly roomy field with soft grass. I like flying my "belly" landing edf's their...

Took the exi 450 out yesterday to start to locktite everything. To my surprise everything was tight as heck. I pulled a few out and found trace of factory loctite, but I went around checking every screw for security. My pitch pin (part on the swash that slides between the track) seemed loose though. Weird, I may need a new swash.

This was the Tarot kit I bought just after you ordered your EXI kit. I got it from OOmodel for $68 + shipping. The site shows it with a white/blue/red canopy and black wood blades. Mine came with the blades and canopy pictured above. I ordered the Tarot 450 white skids for $2 and a pair of Tarot 450 black tail booms for $2.50 along with the kit. The original boom it came with is the same color as the EXI as well as the skids. I just wanted to change mine up a bit.

I don't like the color of the canopy much, but had already ordered a different one to go along with some colored tail blades and fins I'm going to use on it. The one it came with will be my beater canopy.

You've gotten a lot farther than I have. I haven't had a chance to mess with it other than just temp installing he boom, skid and blades for some pics. My daughter has her graduation on Saturday and been getting things ready around the house for lots of family coming in tonight and tomorrow. They will all be gone by Tuesday and I will hopefully have a chance to start checking for Locktite on the frame and head.

I was in for a surprise when I seen a nice Align 450 carrying case, and even more surprised when I seen a T-Rex frame inside the case
Looks awesome! It even has a flybarless head with it

Do the 4 screws for the radius arm on the flybar rotor head use a 1.3mm hex driver to remove or a different size? The screw description is 0#x4mm socket button head screw.

Was able to spend some time on my kit today! Got my entire frame sanded. I took apart the tail rotor assy. and put locktite on everything that needed it. I completely installed the tail boom, got the belt connected and installed the boom struts, fins and servo rod holders. Everything locktited. Also put locktite on all the frame screws that required it except for the main bearing blocks. Waiting on servos before I locktite those screws permanently.

Might try and work on tearing down the head and locktiting it tomorrow.

Is there a shorter anti rotation bracket that I'll need to buy if I convert to FBL or do I use the same one my kit came with?

got mine back in the air...

I am so happy to finally have mine back up after my main blades broke and one way bearing messed up...it was an adventure. I am brand new to nice 450s, have Hausler V2, it all started when it would intermittently rotate slightly out of control.. the few times I attempted to fly it like this certainly improved my reflex/response control...then it finally started free spinning the main gear. I ordered a one way for 6.99 and align carbon pro blades for 18.99 from amainhobbies, no shipping cost.
My Charlotte area locals - do you know of any decent local shops for align parts?
Mail order hurts when you crash Friday afternoon, and have to wait several days to get parts...
I hoped Hobby Stop in rock hill would be good, but almost all elite stuff...tiny section for Align parts and not what I needed.
FYI, I tried eflight 325mm blades...I had to cut down the mount ends to fit in grips..and they worked but much less overall stability...
