Just two comments to some questions received:

The 900 MHz SPW is big, VERY big. 19cm diameter. The good news is that it is light (10 grams).

The 5.8 antennas are small, VERY small. As it is impossible to achieve a consistent accuracy, we test every single 5.8 antenna, and we reject those not achieving <-13dB Return Loss between 5645 and 5945 MHz (i.e. <95% transmitted power).

You beat me to it! My goggle mount 5.8GHz helical has not yet hit the stores.

By the way, you 5.8GHz will out sell all of your other frequencies combined. Ask me how I know

I am sorry...

Yes, I already realised how big the demand is... It seems 5.8 is the future, and on the other hand, you REALLY need Circular Polarization at 5.8...

Yes they do. I've got one of your 5.8CL's and a Hugo helical mounted on my goggles best antenna tracking in the world.

OH Yeah, perfect for a 5.8G tracker.

Where can I buy these beauties from?

A very busy week...

All orders sent, backlog up to date, and enough stock built to cope with the demand.

Big thank you all for trusting us and have patience with the shipments.

I look forward receiving some feedback once you will have the chance to test them.

P.S. You will notice we have slightly changed the 5.8 Helical design, removing the Hecker Transformer Balun. As we individually test them, we have decided to go with the parallel conductor impedance matching method. I will try to post some more details tonight.

Regarding the impedance matching method, we decided to use the Hecker Transformer (the copper triangle) for the 1.2 and 2.4 helicals, because even if it doesn't give the best matching, it is good enough, very consistent (all antennas have the same performance), and very solid.

We build the first prototypes of the 5.8 helicals with the same Hecker Transformer matching method, but finally we decided that they are small enough to make almost impossible to accidentally bend the conductor and lose the impedance matching, so we changed the Plexiglas design to guide the conductor in the right position, and we fine tune the conductor position manually while testing the antenna:

Well done - very professional looking finish to your products - I'll be ordering shortly and running some pretty thorough tests (R&S and Agilent test gear in my shack). If the test results are anywhere near as good as the physical finish & presentation of you antennas your business is going to do well, sir.

Out of interest - it looks like you have removed pretty much as much excess polycarbonate as possible from the helix coil frames. The dielectric constant/relative permativity of polycarbonate can be pretty high above 1Ghz (depending on the exact polycarbonate composition of course) - did you find when designing the helical antennas that the polycarbonate had much (if any) effect on helix dimensions, in particular the 2.4 and 5.8 products?
