We need more bullies like this!!!

Talk about taking command of a situation and showing leadership. All politicians could take a lesson from this story. Of course I have never seen a peep about this in the mainstream media.

Quote:
"In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared," the story reads. "She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay’s daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York and asked them to help find his friend’s missing daughter. Romney’s accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could – prostitutes, drug addicts – anyone.

"That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day. Romney’s former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter’s life, saying, ‘It was the most amazing thing, and I’ll never forget this to the day I die.’

"So, here’s my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can’t help himself. He sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it, sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously. He doesn’t do it for self-aggrandizement or for personal gain. He does it because that’s just how he’s wired."

That doesn't mean he's not a bully.

I'll take a man's actions 15 years ago over his actions 45 years ago as a judge of his character.

The media has covered this, surprised that you missed it.

There is even a Romney campaign ad currently running on many networks...

A quick google search of NBC, CBS and ABC brought up no mention of it. They had many stories about him being a bully though and that Obama supports gay marriage.

It was being reported a couple of weeks ago before the `bully' and `gay marriage' stories-of-the-day popped up.

Wait a couple of weeks and there will be something new that overshadows these in the media's coverage.

That's a very astute question.

There is no reason to assume he wouldn't. The way he stepped up and the amount of money he spent was very significant. It showed real leadership and decision making capabilities in a stressful situation. He was looking after one of his employees and their families.

That has no negative answer unless you want to be a pesimist and bring outside bias into the reality of what happened. No matter how you cut it this is a tremendous story that says a lot about the individual.

Of course the question has a possible negative answer. It's highly likely that had the hypothetical postulated by logan5 actually occurred, then the supply clerk's daughter would never have even been heard of. Denying the very possible existence of that situation for the sake of political partisanship would be ridiculous.

Logan specifically asked if he (mitt romney) would've done the same for a supply clerks daughter. Obviously for Mitt to have had any action at all he would've had to have know the situation existed. Speculating on how someone would've reacted to a situation they had no knowledge of is absurd.

It's clear what logan was saying was if Mitt had been told about the exact same situation but it was a supply clerks daughter would he have acted differently. There is absolutely nothing that says that he would've unless you want to inject your own personal bias into the equation.

Your denial of the mere possibility of a negative answer to the question has already been noted. It is difficult to envisage something more personally biased than entirely discounting a negative answer as even being a possibility.

I'm not a MR supporter , but you can't hold folks today for stupid stuff they do as a child. Mitt being a bully shouldn't even be an issue.

If that was the case ,90% of people should be locked up.

No, bullies are rare and becoming even more rare.

We rarely encounter them here, and when we do, we deal with them.

Nobody dealt with Romney... they should have.
