ESC beeping but motor wont work..HELP!
I bought this 18-20A ESC from hobbyking
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...rammable_.html and when I hooked it up it seemed to work fine, for a moment.. but then the motor stopped responding. now i've found the manual to program it by transmitter; http://www.svensktmodellflyg.se/user...Sentry_ESC.pdf ..but when I start by turning down the throttle on the transmitter, and then connecting the battery to the ESC like the manual says, I just hear the three '1,2,3' beeps, and then nothing... also turning the throttle up to enter programming mode just gives me those three beeps. It's my first ESC like this and I dont have a clue. does anyone know whats going on? Thanks! |

What trans. are you using.?? Futaba throttle channel needs to be reversed. I'd leave the prop off till you get it programmed to avoid any dangerous surprises.

Im using a 2.4ghz 4 channel transmitter from skyangel, the one that came with the RTF micro MIG 15 35mm EDF from hobbyking.
it's for this project..: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...1645514&page=2 I've tried reversing te channel too. no result. But the first time it worked, it also beeped, and i also moved the throttle channel randomly (i didn't know yet about the programming by transmitter..) so i might have put it in some mode by accident.. any idea how to reset everything? thank you it's much appreciated!! |

Sorry I'm late, just got back from flying. The throttle may not be low enough to arm the ESC. Try lowering the throttle trim lever. If that doesnt work, try going further with the lower throttle end point. Not sure how to reset as I'm not familiar with that radio system. I had the same little Mig and it flew very well till I piled it in.
 My finger slipped and I'm sticking with that excuse. Gord. |

I've tried lowering the throttle by trim level, but still nothing but "1,2,3" beeps.. I've posted a video in the build log, maybe it can clarify something.. ..never knew these ESC's were gonna be so complecated. I can understand aerodynamics, but electronics pfff...

In my old age, I missed the part where it beeps.
That means the ESC has armed the motor so the problem may be in the motor. It still spins OK by hand? in case somethings not jammed the blades. Do you have another loose motor to plug into the ESC to try.? Sometimes a bad connection on one of the motor wire will not let it run, but the motor usually jiggles back and forth in that case.Gord. |
