My Sky Scout Build ** Pietenpol** StevensAeroModel**

Hi Guys,
Here are some photos of my Pietenpol Sky Scout Build This is Electric has a
48" wingspan!
I will show you with a little extra time, what you can do to really make it Look Scale! You do not build over plans with this kit! Really Fantastic Laser cut
If you like low and slow "flying" then this is the Airplane to build!

Ok, Here is the Radiator but I decided to cover it in real thin Brass! Easy to do and "Really looks real"
The Engine I also decided to make it more real, by adding details like headbolts,
Head gasket, Spark plug wires. Its easy and reall adds to the Airplane All of these parts come in the kit.
I will show you more as time goes on! It will look, just like the Black with Red wing in the picture when done! Good flying to you Guys

Hi Joe

Those are fabulous details! I have this kit as well, but I doubt I'll ever put that kind of effort into it. But please share with us, so we can see what can really be done with this kit...

Thanks,

Sam

Well I've got the Stevens Aero kit in my stash since April 20011. I really need to finish the two other planes I have started first though. Trust me, I'm very interested in your build thread! Here's some photos I found: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...85b561a&type=1

Well, not a Stevens' Scout, but, I love my Rake Air Camper. A great plane and I just love to sit and do touch an goes with it, one after the other.

Once built a House 'o Balsa Pietnpol "Air Camper".
Flew just about exactly like an (overweight) Airtronics QTee.
Certainly acceptably, but also genuinely booooring, enough to be memorably so, 30 ! years later.
Clearly not worth the inconsiderable efforts involved with adding the 'Scale'; details to that model, in my addled opinion.
Having said that Stevens' kits DO make for lovely detailed scale models.. a marvel to just stare at even.
Worth the price of admission for that alone:-)

Joe,

I'm certainly enjoying the extra details and love you're giving that kit.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for the nice coments! I have finished building the wing today, and moved on to building the wing struts always like to install them first before all is done to make sure all is right! Landing gear is also done and painted!

Wing struts built

Hi Guys,
Ok I finished all of the wings struts and cabane struts today! I use my airfoil shaped struts as I think they look better and I did not have to do any sanding at all That is just the way I roll I think my cabane struts look much better!
Also installed the landing gear to check it.

More later Keep on building
