Bleh, for a mylar covered airplane with very little bracing, that's pretty bad. I would expect much closer to 3.5oz, no more than 4...

I agree, but I would not want a 36" freestyle plane that weighed 3.5oz.

Exactly. Good reason not to mylar cover a freestyle airplane, apparently not doing much more than reducing strength! 5ish oz is achievable with a totally un-milled airframe without much work.

I think that it should have been milled (instead of "cut and covered" )
Because milling would increase strength and add a little bit of weight, (so you would not have to reinforce with carbon, SO much

Good points guys, I'll see what the forums say when they arrive, I'm sure someone will try one. I may still get one and beef it up with extra carbon.
