2012 S107G vs 2011 S107G

Hey,

I had a s107 which i gave to a friend last year.

I bought a yellow S107g today, which looks exactly the same as the s107 I had last year, the only difference is that it says "S107g" on the box.

I was hoping to get the 2012 model ( with 3D Full Function Helicopter and S107G written on it), like the green and white ones, because:

1) It looks new / better
2) I read on a forum that user "Killbuckets" said the 2012 model is more silent and has a better sweetspot of speed and balance.

Does anyone know how to find out if I got the 2012 model? Maybe circuit board codes, wire colors, etc ?

Also, do you think I should return it and get a green or white one to make sure I got the 2012 model? Are there any differences between them in terms of performance etc ? One thing that I noticed from the pics is that the canopy of the NEW version is a bit longer...

Thanks !!!

Dude, why don't you advance to a 4 channel heli. Here's one that's nice, cheap, and durable, a V911 for $40.59 with free shipping.

aaahhh, that explains the difference in graphics. I just bought a blue one from battery superstore on amazon and noticed the "3d full function blah blah" text on it. I wondered if it was a real one.

thanks!

I almost bought it from battery superstore, but another reseller had it titled as S107G, whereas battery superstore as S107. I guess I should have went for battery superstore, although I'm not sure if there are any technical differences.

Just out of curiosity, could you look at your circuitboard and see what it has printed on it ( mine says S107R5 ). I know there are R3 and R5 boards, and I understand the R3 ones are more desirable (faster?). I'm wondering what boards the 2012 model has.

I think syma only makes 107s with the gyro now. as long as it is an original, you will get a s107g regardless of what description the vendor has.

unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to check the pcb for you. it is a gift and I don't want to open it up. If I can read it through the window in the box, I'll let you know.

sorry!

I've thought about that, but I've given a bunch as gifts and never had a problem with them. I might. We'll see.
