I'm building another quad and want a fc board better than the kk which I already have, really pleased with the kk, it flys well but I want something with more sensors on it.

So nearly clicked "buy now" on the dji naza! then I see others like this at less than half the price with what looks like very similar features.

Not better, but can be tuned to fly very nicely and costs a fraction of the price...

....... i would look at TimeCops Naze32 the FreeFlight controller... at $60 is it a good buy and uses an open code base that you can be sure will be updated for the lifespan of the controller.


The Naza is great at Alt Hold and Auto Level, from what I have seen its manual mode is less than desirable.

The HoverFly Sport is rocks solid manual mode and handles wind better than i have seen in any other board, but its Alt hold sucks and AutoLevel take a little bit of trimming.

If i were spending the money it would not be to a kockoff product that may or may not be supported in the future.... Just my 2c

Get HF Sport, a solid product with a solid company for support & upgrade.

Or until he gets bored with it and moves onto other things. Even reputable companies don't keep things forever. It's all a crap shoot.

Randall I know you own a rabbit, but what you are saying isnt actually true.

A real KK board, a real multwii and the CopterControl are user supported and will have updates even when new hardware comes around.

Multwii still supports the original hardware...... even in new updates

Even HoverFly has supported their v1 HFpro board even though it is 3 generations old.

you are right... if you are not going to be in this a long time and or will move on to something different or better than you could be right.


I am not saying that it is a good or bad FC, i have not used it..... but it was developed by a fly-by-night group and they only sell it (i could be wrong) from a less than reputable dealer..... I am not going to rely on GLB for anything with the amount of negative reviews they get...


I am sure it is a more than capable flight controller, just trying to help the OP think about all his options

I have never seen anything that's supported forever. We all thought 8 track tapes, beta, lazer discs, cassettes and vhs would be here a lot longer than they were.
My point is to get something you like and don't worry so much about new software. Yes, I like the rabbit but to be honest, it flies well enough in it's first FW upgrade that unless you're going to really up the ante, it's fine the way it is.

I disagree with your statement and opinion that you buy something you like an not worry about support.

I buying things differently. Since this is really about the OP, I just wanted to make sure he was aware of his options

Forever is a long time, but if you had to bet on it..... which will be supported and improved longer....

By my guess the few open source projects that enough people are invested into, so I'd vote for MultiWii and KK

What type of FLYING do you want to do?

Stable video flying, autolevel enabled with alt hold: Naza

Sport flying, flips, etc, MultiWii or CC

I would not buy any of those flight controller from goodluck buy. Sorry Did that once (multiwii clone) and it was total junk...

No, baseflight doesn't run on cortex M0. While it's not difficult to support, it lacks bootloader, ram, and useful peripherals.
