Small Three Axis Accelerometers

My brother suggested this, and it may be something that is useable.

Might actually give us a speed profile, and actual speed calculation.

Very interesting in concept.

The spec on the accelerometer says 18G's and I don't think that is enough, but maybe they could make or calibrate one to go higher.

I recall reading that record level flights were in the 70G range.

We could use the magnetic field sensor for speed measurement?

I make altimeters that also record acceleration at high rate. I have a 2-axis model that has an acceleration range of 35Gs / 70Gs. Spencer flew one on his 468mph record flight. I also have another version that measures acceleration in a single axis up to 250Gs.

You can't directly calculate speed this way unless you know which way the accelerometer was pointed the whole time. I'm working on a unit that incorporates a 3-axis gyro to do that.
