Merlin Falcon and Merlin Falcon Extreme

You can see by my Avatar that I love Raptor birds. They rule the air. Here is a cool RC Model of the Merlin Falcon. A small raptor that falconers have trained to hunt for years. Google image the Merlin Falcon to see more and you'll love this bird as well.
The model fly's great, easy to build and looks like a falcon in the air. I didn't have my video camera but we did take pictures of it flying. I'll post a video soon.

Hey Bob,
I put the Merlin Falcon here just in case some one else wanted to build it. I posted the plans for the Merlin Falcon and the Extreme. I built the MFX.

I think the Merlin Falcon is found mostly in Europe.

I see you incorporated your new servo mount design. Nice.

I do like the looks of the MFX.

Hope this does not sound to lazy, but there are no measurements. Can I enlarge this using adobe and print tiles? This is just a little different to me.

Just call me lazy

Yeah that's the way I did it. I made it about 40-42 inches because I didn't want to cut the CF rod I taped under the wing. Now if I were building a EPP model then I would go much smaller. I think most people are useing the adobe tile now. If this doesn't work for you let me know and I'll do something different, but I did it very easy. I just looked at the paper size and made an approx. guess.
Thanks for building the MFX Bob. I can't wait to see yours.

To the Europeans it's a merlin, to the Brit's it's a sparrowhawk, and to the American's it's a Kestrel. I used to have one (real bird, that is) but at their size, grass hoppers and small mouses are about at the limit of their hunting skills.

As far as the airplane is concerned, it's nice to see an original design. I'd love to see some videos of it. Does it scare away the local birds when you fly?

Come to think of it I didn't see any birds when it was flying.

I'll get a video made of it flying soon so be watching.

Thanks RC, I got the video camera fix today so I'll get a video made. Maybe tomorrow I can get my friend to do the video. He does the video while I fly and then I do a video while he fly's. He told me today that he's looking forward to flying it.

Thanks for posting!
