That's the first time I've seen anyone claim that a Cessna 182 is an airliner. How about a Cri-Cri or a Piper Cub ? They're civilian planes too.

It sounds like this forum idea was very poorly thought out. If you intend it to include things which have nothing to do with the forum title I'd say this vote is completely invalid and should be voided. Then you can put in a new request for the forum you actually want .

FWIW I wasn't suggesting that a 182 is an airliner, but the title doesn't say ONLY airliners. A 182 could be considered a comercial aircraft in some roles. (on the extreme end of the spectrum OFC) j
a C-130 is not an airliner either(or even civilian), but it is both a cargo aircraft and a troop transport.

The reason I brought this up was not to start an argument over what is or is not an airliner, but an attempt to find out what (most) people expect to see in this new area. ( and to see just how varied the answer is)
The current title , for me at least, seems somewhat vague and makes me wonder how many people think they are voting on something they are not.
I would like to see a new area for these planes that don't really fit anywhere at the moment, just trying to make sure it doesn't create even more confusion to someone figuring out where to put their new build thread/question/etc
.

I think it should be restricted to aircraft of any variant that is used in commercial transport. everything from a Twin Otter to a 747, as long as it is used to transport for financial gain in some way or another, then it's fine, i hope this makes sense, it did in my mind lol. Nothing military, unless if it is something like a C47 because that is also a DC3.

from the title its seems to be a cargo aircraft. i.e. planes carring dead weight. like people, troops or stuff. many plane would fit the description. i voted cuz i find most people build planes and only fly them. in a forum like the one propopsed, it would seem to have a higher concentration of functional cargo planes, like doors and such.

just my .02
