Ain't no Funky& Wiggles here, only a magic box with a lightup movie screen with buttons to push. But look at the position of the chairs in the background, they are different and just because your angle or semi-angle of inclination between two sight lines is different doesn't mean that ain't a different box. You could have left that picture off and saved me a lot of aggrivation. It's not the same boat. No way Jose and no go Joe. And besides oatmeal is for wimps. pete

A torn snap strap is a good scale feature.Ya don't think there are any torn cushions on boats out there?

The problem is they need to be functional. Reason number one, I need to access a hole which I need in the center of the mahogany box. Reason number two, it has to withstand the wind that norgale makes.

And to think they say I'm crazy about the detail. I am humbled.

I am not going to cement the rear hatch to the deck..It will be attached w/a 10-32 into a flush insert. Why????? If the deck needs to be refinished when I'm 130 years old,I just unscrew and start sanding

It will certainly be an old indian trick if you live for 130 years Old Bag of Wind. However only the good die young so you will probably make that many years with no problem. Ha! Actually you'll be refinishing in five or six years unless you keep the boat in a closed display case and out of the sun. How about making the straps out of metal and have them go all the way over the top of the hatch, Then glue the cusion to the metal straps. Good huh? Pete

Here are a few pics of my 63. It's been torn down some for refinishing, second time since it was built in 1996. If you look close you will see the hatch on the rear deck and it don't need no stupid cushion. Pete

No,I want it accessable with something other than a hammer & chisel.Besides, the straps would not look like they were attached to the appropriate place on the cushion..

Since I am the greatest offender for making quips about things, I will attempt to ask a serious question. Does the one strap that I've made for my rear deck cushion look bad ?
What I am looking at is a strap that appears wider than the full-scale. I have just about reached my limit making something like this,by hand, to scale.

So who cares? There arn't two upholsterers who would make that strap the same way in the world. You can make yours anyway you want and at that scale you would have to make it a tad thinner but wide enough to hold. Unless of course you used a metal strap or a thinner nail. pete

Too wide. But no one will be carrying that photo around to compare.
