18N24P (3612 stator size) motor kits for sale

I have a Chinese friend selling multiple-pole brushless outrunners and motor kits. Here is some pic.

He is not selling kits before, but recently, he had some stator holder with a little larger hole for the bearing, and he is willing to sell the motor kits for a low price. To note that there is no gap between the bearing and the bearing holder, just the bearing is a bit loose. NO light can be seen between the bearing and the stator holder.
Another flaw is that the stator holder is a bit small for the stator hole. Light can be seen coming through the tiny gaps between the stator and the stator holder.
No other flaws is in the kit. Obviously, the flaws requires some work out.

Magnets are N50, 80 degree C.
laminations are 0.35mm. 18N stator. Stator size is 36mm in diameter, 12mm thick. 18N24P motor. Stator is powder-coated to prevent winding shorts.
Bearing are ceramic bearing,good quality.
shaft size is 6mm,
Magnets are not glued on the bell, but they are installed in the bell, since "free" magnets are not allowed to mail abroad.
Other details can be seen from the Pic.

One kit is 20 US dollars, not including shipping cost.
Here is his selling link in China. About 150 kits in stock for now.
New assembled 3612 18N24P is sold for about 65 USD not including shipping cost.

Link for the motor in Taobao in Chinese: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=14576921454

About the mailing, I am still waiting for his reply. He is trying to find a cheap way.

If anyone interested, reply to this thread, or email at :63156806@qq.com to contact Mr.Liu Changde, my firend, directly.

What is included in the kit:
Bell cover X1
Bell X1
18N stator, powder coated X1
6mm threaded shaft
N50 magnets X25 (one extra)
stator holder X1
ceramic bearings X2
Bullet screw head X1
anti-rotation propeller holding ring X1(to hold the propeller)
C-clip X2
M3 screw X6
copper ring X1(between the C-clip and the bearing)
0.63mm wire, rated 130 degree. about 20 gram.

Some of the carbon fiber propellers he made:
size ranging from 8045 1045 1038 1147 1105 1238 1206 1304 1365 1447 1407 1504
price ranging from 21-30 USD, for a pair of "clockwise" and "anticlockwise" propellers.

Shape of the propellers are identical to APC propellers. Carbon materials is from Japan, 3K material. Good dynamic balance, but you only know for sure when you use it.

So it should not be a problem to make a 22magnet rotor? Less cogging, smoother running, different winding diagram.
BTW are the stators wound? I see wound and empty stators in the pictures.

You forgot his selling link in your opening post.

Thanks for pointing that out. I added to the first floor subscribes.

No, the ring which attaches the bell, has 24 slots for the 24 magnets, sadly. it would be great if it is a 18N20P motor.

Stator are unwinded, clean, power-paint coated. No need for extra insulation papers. Those winded stators are for assembled motors. I am sure most people will prefer clean stators ^^

He is only selling in China, but he is willing to sell abroad, after he proposed this kit to me, and we had a discussion. There is only selling link in Chinese, Taobao, the biggest on-line trading in China, similar to ebay. The chinese link for these motor are on the first floor of the post. If you wanna buy it, probably you can only post reply to this thread, or email him (email address is also on the first floor).

Test data will follow, since these are just made out for less than a month.

I still need to emphasis the downside of the motor kit:
1,N50 magnets are rated only 80 degree. Mild operation only, like the quad-copter. Magnets are flat.
2, 0.35mm laminations, only good for comparatively low speed operation, like quad-copter. Otherwise, iron loss may be big.
3, these kits are sold at very low price, since the above mentioned two flaws. you will need to fix the problem yourself, expecially you need to find a way to fix the stator onto the stator holder, while maintaining the stator holder tube in the center. Though the gap is pretty small, still, you can see light coming from the gap between the stator and the stator holder.
4, Magnets are not glued on the bell, you will need to glue it and do the dynamic balancing yourself.
5, shipping cost maybe not cheap. He is still finding a way to ship it less costly abroad. If you happen to be in China, SF-express can ship to anywhere in china for less than 4 USD in at most 3 days for most of the areas.

Good side of the motors:
1, They are multiple-poles, and considering the size, few motors in this size in the market are multiple poles.
2, Bearing are good and pretty big for the size of the motor. Maybe not as good as Boca, but should be close, since the balls are both ceramic.
3, Stator well insulated already, no need for insulation papers. For this reason, i do not like some of the scorpions...
4, Magnets are rated N50, though not the high temperature type.
5, The materials of the bell, shaft, are not bad. Propeller can be directly installed on the motor bell.

Overall, these motors are designed for use with about 13 inches to 17 inches propellers. He is also making some carbon propellers, as shown on the second floor of this thread. These are designed for use in a quad-copter. How good the performance will be, you may see the test results which i will be posting later after he has it done, as a reference.

For me i want only one , but in RC-network we're talking about a collective order.
So we have to pay for shipping only one time.

I'm from Germany , and we have customs, and if the value is over 22€ we have to pay 19 % tax. So we have to consider if we want to make a collective order, or everyone orders by his own.

regards

@modisc

The Taobao link mentions two Kv ratings, 336 and 460, can you explain that? It does not sound like it is the difference between a Delta and Wye termination.

@anyone

Has anyone got a shipping cost on one of these to the U.S. yet? It should be the same or just about the same for U.S. address I think.

I think he is using different sized wires for different turns. The shipping is really a headache

I am very sorry guys. It seems the shipping cost overseas is just too expensive, and those without tracking are not safe. He said he would close this thread.

I am sorry again for the time of yours.

I am sorry but it seems i cannot find a cheap but safe way to ship the parcel to US or Germany. EMS cost about 280 RMB, which is around 40 USD. DHL and UPS cost are similiar.

A good news of the shipping:

Shipping to Germany via EMS, with a tracking number, around 5 days delivery. 140 RMB for first 0.5Kg, 40 RMB for every additional 0.5kg.

My friend asked UPS, and they may have some trouble shipping motor stuff. Currently, EMS is the only option. Thanks.
