Silcone Diff Oil same as Silcone Shock Oil

My son and I are new to the hobby. Have a Savage Flux shock that began leaking oil badly at the track last night. I have some silcone Diff lock 30k, is this the same as the silcone 30k the book says to use in the shocks? LHS not open today

Thanks in advance.

They don't use weight that heavy in shocks. Likely 30w oil.

The basic fluid is the same, but the weights are drastically different. Diff fluid is measured is thousands of weights, 30K oil is 30,000 weight oil. A 30w shock oil is only 30 weight.
