I added a couple of more details to the light today. I also drilled a hole in the rear of the light for the electrical cable that is shown in the photos.

I got a little bit more done on the light today. I made the locking knob assembly which turned out to be easier than I thought.

Added a couple more details to the light today. I thought I had a piece of wire small enough to add the cable to the rear of the light but naturally I did not. So I will go a looking tomorrow. I still need to find a lens for it but I think I know where I can get one of those.

Grav, when I need very small wire, I strip a piece of regular hook-up wire of its insulation and then unravel the copper threads inside of it. Gives me several strands of very thin gauge wire.

Thanks for the info Kmot, I have some of that wire around here. I just have to find it. The cable to the light in the photos seems to be on the large side.

Tim the Dumas light was not even close to what it should have been. I have never made a light before so it was new for me. It was good to do just a single part.

Hi gravman

The wire used in motor car looms is very fine now, the individual strands that is, within the plastic insulation or have you considered the wiring from an old cassette deck player? Scrap electronics have yelded many a small diameter piece of wire for me when needed

Wire

Grave take a look at LED light wireing they are pretty darn small also. Strip the out cover off and you have two very small insulated wires inside. One of them might work for you.

I decided to use a very small piece of brass wire to simulate the electrical hookup on the rear of the light. This weekend I'm going to go looking for a lens for the front.
