Hello guys,

I was looking for a thread to post questions about these goggles but they are all too old to post except for this one so I post here instead of creating yet another one.

I am using these goggles in a ski mask (as shown here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...7#post21004945) and as a beginner I am very happy with the image they provide. No problem a all reading all the details of the OSD and so on.

However, yesterday I had my first FPV crash because I flew behind some trees. The signal dropped for a short moment but instead of displaying statics the goggles went black for a couple of seconds. Since I was flying low, it was too late :-)

Here is the video of the flight (crash is at 2:25):

FPV at a new location and First FPV Crash! (3 min 59 sec)

As you can see on the recording, there are quite some heavy statics but this would have been flyable if the goggle did not black out.

Any of you have experienced similar things?
Is there a way to make the goggles display statics instead of going black?

Franck

Hence why you pay a bit more for something like Fat Shark. Built for FPV to fly FPV.

hehe, not the answer I am looking for but that is a good point!

I feel that it should be fairly easy to put something between the RX and the goggles to prevent them from "deciding" when the signal is too low to be displayed. Not sure what the something should be though :-)
Maybe something like a video signal repeater/amplifier which would produce a clean video signal including the statics.

Any opinions?
