Wanted
Change sun 120mm fan

I bought one from hobbyking but the majority of the feedback on their fans shows the prop adapters are crap. I'm interested in either the whole fan setup, or just the 8mm prop adapter that's in good working condition.

Talking about the 4 bladed version. I'm using a typhoon 700-98-935kv motor

If you're talking about the 4 blade ones you have to make sure there's no run out on the shaft before putting the rotor on and then clock method balance the rotor....

Not hard but take some patience...not bad for 37usd.

There are also other options with it too, gonna try some this weekend...

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you mean. What is run out? What is the clockwise install? A friend told me to tighten it down, power it with 4s or so and watch for vibration. Turn it 15 degrees or so and try again. Keep doing this until I find thebest spot. Is there a site with better instructions or a video?

If you can find some copper shaft from your LHS that can slip over the motor shaft so you can tighten down the motor shaft screw (the one at the top of the motor shaft) and make sure the tip of the screw doesn't wobble at all.

Then put the rotor on and make sure there's no vibration in it by doing the 15 degree turn of the rotor keeping the motor shaft still (I usually mark the shaft and keep it at 12oclock) till you find the spot with the least amount of vibration

Thanks erh. I'm sure that will make sense when I look at the fan assembly. I wish there was a video guide or detailed install guide.

Also, did you have to reinforce the fan housing with light ply or was that only for the 12 blade version?
