Well I finally ordered mine last Wednesday and had to leave town for business in PA. I swung into an LHS near Mechanicsburg and guess what I saw inside the front door? I resisted the urge to look at it for about 5 minutes and then gave in... I left the shop with a brand new E-Flite F-4!

Looks like I'll be starting my mods next week when I get home. I was in an F-4 squadron in the Navy (VF-154) and will painting this up like a Black Knights smoking thunderhog. After all these years, I'll finally get to fly a squadron plane. The good news is that we were also on the USS Coral Sea so some markings will get to stay.

Thanks getting my second F-4 out.

My X F-4 weight 7.2 lbs with 8s 3600mAh 2.5kw and nose trailing .
Not bad for me doing the hop up and only 2oz heavier than stock.
The next one I can even do it lighter.
Good luck on the maiden.
When you want more power.
Spend my money back with me for the hop up.

I choose not to run with those , didn't on the habu 32 . Maybe after the maiden I'll put them on just to see, if those twist in the air on deployment it could be bad

Take some pix of the bottom with the gear up..curious to see what it looks like.

The manual recommends a JR DS3421 for the elevator. I might go with 1bwana1 recommendation in post #1 of the HiTec 5245MG.

A word of caution when installing the aileron control horns. Neither one of mine would sit flush and required me to do some cleaning out with an exacto knife. If you're not careful you could poke thru the aileron!!

I have 4 hs65mg servos that I was considering for the ailerons flaps. Given the small surface areas of the f4, any thoughts on using these?
They have less torque than the recommend (30/35 oz-in) so I would be afraid to.
