Sweet! I love the Red Bull theme! I've wanted a Red Bull boat for a long time but just never got around to it. Did you make the image for the decals or did you find it somewhere? I assume it's a vector image...

I ran the Cheetah again today Bill. 5s/1600kv 4082s and 645 props. Running 160A ESCs and temps were not an issue at all. I'm curious how this boat would run with twin 442s or 445s, but I won't be running it again and didn't get a chance to try them today. The 645s definitely don't have a problem moving the hull, so your 447s should get it out of the hole like a rocket. Actually, if you're running 1680kv on 6s you might want to go a little smaller. You're turning some serious RPM for an oval boat.

The images are something I found on the internet and not vectored. That could be subject to change though. I've already emailed my layup file to myself at work and going to try to get Cheryl to do the print & cut in real vinyl. If I have to do waterslide the "Red Bull" lettering may get left off the sides. That's more individual cutting and applying than I want to do.

Coming back to power & props, I may run this on 5s instead of 6. Q allows "up to" 6s max and 5s 5000's can actually be slid into the sponsons up front without having to split the packs.

The 700-68 1680's arrived today along with the Fightercat stingers. (I do plan to shorten the stingers)
Good news is the HET 700-68 motors are identical in size to the Neu 1515. I slid the jacket off my Neu and tried it for fit. Now I need to get Dave to make me a mirror image (in relation to where the nipples are located) set of jackets.

The pic above (post #48) shows a 1680.

has anyone tryed the castle 1717 1680kv motors yet? they come out of the ox-1 car.....

As Chris pointed out they are the 1680's Phil. Should be interesting to say the least. Roughly 5" longer than your Phantom cat 7" shorter than your Falcon but with the Falcon's power system (minus 2s on the batts)

Unless they have changed something for the XO car, the 1717 is a 1580 kv motor Ron. I ran two of them in Goldfinger and still running one in the Sprintcat.

PS to Chris. Thanks for showing some retraint for the troll. (tempting I know) Maybe if we all ignore him he will go away.

Bill i had a small problem with props on the 1680's the x442 were too small and the x447's were a bit big on 6s those were the only sizes i could get in R/H props so i cut the ears off the props (see pic) there was no loss in speed but almost 1 min longer run time and the ESC and motors ran much cooler

you may not have this problem running a smaller hull but its an easy fix

Thanks Phil. I've been known to "tamper" with a few props myself. If they seem too big I have a 1" belt sander that makes pretty quick work of de-tounging and back cutting. If you're working a stainless prop it's the "only way to fly" in my opinion.

I may decide against shortening the stingers. I drilled for them tonight and glad I bought the spacer shims when I bought the stingers. Didn't think they would be needed on this one but they make great drill templates.
Mounted one up to do some checking and they are only 2" past the overhang. If I use the same rudder as on my little Mean Machine it would come up about dead center between the props.

This is gonna be one sweet boat Bill!!

On another note I have pretty much finished up the paint on this one. Not the route I normally go but had paint on hand while I'm still accumlating parts for the build.
Pretty happy overall with the appearance. Now I just have to be careful while rigging it so it doesn't get messed up even before making it to the water.
