Chop slows a boat down regardless of what anybody says. This one GPS'd at 60 last Sunday when my video camera was broke. Today it was about 3 mph slower.

Here's a 5s run on the Cheetah running the offset offshore course. Could have used a little more zoom with the camera. (almost looks like a GoPro but without the hi-def) Thought it hit a thermal or LVC on one of the motors but turned out to be the steering servo broke loose from the hull.

Thanks scorp. I ran it 3 times yesterday. 6s - 4s - 5s. On 4s and 5s there is no need to let off the throttle. 6s is kind of iffy in the corners. Most of the time it will turn, but sometimes have to back off a little to get it to go.

Gonna go ahead and get this one out of the way. A very short GPS run of the Cheetah on 6s with the counter rotating X447's. Pushed it past 60 but not for long in todays east wind chop.

I know, it's a bump on a "done built" thread but was still pretty happy with todays GPS run.

How's your current draw Bill? 450/3's and you would probably get her over 70, just for (bowel movements) and giggles. The Cheetah hull can handle some big props, and it will get the hull a little further out of the water too.

Man, another smokin Cat from Mr. Hunt................ you are officially hooked on Cats. You outta throw the x450/3's on there as Keith suggested if you have room left amp-wise. Another fine boat Bill!

No data logging capabilities on this one but the 4000 ma packs were showing 3.8v per cell when I put them on the charger for storage mode after that 7 lap run. Both packs were the same as I finally added in the balancing wires for 2p use. The outboard motor was around 120*, the inboard side a good 20 degrees warmer.

Thanks scorp. I seem to have pretty good luck setting up cats. The usually run cleaner than my monos. Jumping from 447/2's to 450/3's is a pretty healthy increase in prop area. Might get away with it for a few saw passes but wouldn't want to try running oval with them. I found out on the 1st lap that it would not turn (AT ALL) at full throttle with the 447's like it would with the 442's. Had to remember to back down to about 3/4 going into the turn or it would keep going straight.

Those are the ones I run on it. I pull the shafts and wipe them down after a day of running then just stick them in the boat they go to until prepping for the next run day.

Ordered a set of the CNC 45 mm aluminum props from OSE last week to try on this one tomorrow.

I'd have to agree that you don't have to worry too much about balancing them since they don't weigh enough to be able to tell if they're off with my balancer. They did get a bit of sharpening and polish though. When they came out of the bags the leading edges were pretty thick. Don't know how well they will hold up as they were super easy to work. Think I spent about 30 minutes on the 2 props combined.

There's a 8 not too far from my place and a Howard Johnsons too. Not sure I'd want to recommend them to a friend though. Unless they have been "cleaned up" recently there's lots of undesireable people that use them. A little further down the road there's a Holiday Inn. Not sure of what the rates are though. Winter months are "tourist season" here and accomodations can get pricey.

I live about 50 miles south of Tampa in south Bradenton, and Ackerman Park is in Sarasota off Fruitville Road. (about a 20 minute ride for me)
