Google Earth

Here is a comparison of a picture of the park (Sheffield Park) behind my house Of Google Earth's picture and my picture.
I took it with my Nikon 3700 on my Slowstick some years ago.

Can you imagine what kind of camera they must use to take pictures? I'm guessing from a Satellite? Yours is better but theirs is very good also, just higher up!

I don't remember, most likely 3 or 400 feet.

I looked at/near some high-rise buildings using Google Earth at max zoom. The apparent height of view is about 40 floors * 10 feet per floor = 400 feet. Of course that a very rough guestimate.

Google Earth lists the apparent height of the camera with the picture.

I don't think that would be any indication of how high my picture was taken

Google Earth elevation estimate attempts to show how the view would look to unaided human eyes, from what I have seen. That would work for a 50mm focal length @ 35mm camera equivalent. A wide angle lens appears to be higher than it really is.

Here's a comparison I did, altitude by gps logger.
