I don't have an exact KV on 22/60/1E. It's a buddy's plane.
Numbers seem to point to around 1400kv. I know Peter M has a KV on his identical motor. I'll try to find it.

It looks like that motor could turn a 7x10 at around 30K on 7S. If your speed ship's airspeed runs around 80% of pitch speed, which is commonly held as an efficient level, that would put the airspeed at 227mph

Might require dropping to 6S to run a 7x13 prop.
That would give pitch speed of around 325mph!!!

We ran the 22/60/1E on an ICE 200A. Full size with heat sink. Love that ESC.

Hey Arcticflyer,
Does that hitec need a bumpy servo cover or can a straight piece cover the servo and keep it smooth.
Thanks,
Erik

Pretty sure Spektrum does not recommend 6255 in all carbon airplanes. They tell you to use 3 or 4 antennas, which means one of the 9ch rx's.

Guys,
I measured 1415rpm/volt cold.

Jetdryvr - Made my own servo frames from ply and even with the frames they do not stick above the wing skin. They are a nice thin servo...first ones...so the performance will have to wait and see.

Steve - Guess I wasted my money on the 6255 (will find another plane to put it in)...ordered a DSM2 9300 from AmainHobbies just now. Pretty cheap for the older DSM2 $69.99.

Peter M - Thanks that means I need to get some 7S packs on the way...will do some tests with 5 and 6S when the motor gets here then I will know for sure. Nothing like good hard data from guys who have spun the motors up!!!

I would love to see more larg prop/motor set ups

I just got in an ARC 36-75-1 1800kv inrunner. For my 69in speed falcon
http://www.lightflightrc.com/HTML/pr...36-65&75mm.htm

I'm hopeing to spin a 8x8 as fast as I can

I'm also thinking of getting this huge 56x92mm inrunner 1000kv http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_1000kv.html

I got a falcon 120 jet that needs to spin a 16x12 as fast as possible

Never a waste of money to have spare parts around! That 6255 is perfect for speed 400 to F5D size planes (gliders too) that have a mix of glass/kevlar/carbon.

Mike,
8x8 sounds too big for that motor, unless you plan on running only 4s and it will pull 100 amps. 1000-1100kv is more where you want to be for a prop that size.

jocke - that is one sweet motor.

Steve - You're right...it (6255) will probably go in my Plasma. You mentioned mounting the receiver up in front of the wing with the antennas out the sides and the remote in the tail boom out the top?

Mike - I would be really interested in the numbers on that ARC please let us know when you get some tests done with props on that motor. I think you are gonna find that what Steve said is true the KV is a little high for the higher cell Lipos.
Is the Falcon you are talking about the ARF that Nitro planes sells? If so and you run that monster motor make sure to post it up...that should be interesting.

Will do. It seems very hard to find any 7 in props that can handle the rpm (close to 30k) I want. I was going 8in as towerhobbies sells a ton

I will try that monster Motor when it gets in stock.

It seems leopard makes the same motor at 2x the cost
