Hello fellows, after searching and reading, I finally found a couple of.burned 4025's. My plan.is.to rewind one for speed croco style. I know nothing about rewindind but am willing to take on the job and learn. Question is what wind etc does a rookie need to study, I'm turning a 7 x7 @ 32.5 static and doing 200. What wind type wind and prop size is suggested by you pros for a 6-8s setup?

First make sure you know how many magnets it has. It could be 8 or 10 and they need to be wound completely different. If it's 10, I'd look at this one - http://www.scorpion.powercroco.de/12...dscorpion.html
Winding the teeth in pairs as Ralph does on YY, makes it easier. You can use shorter wire and you find a short, you don't have to undo as much. You risk a short when the wire ends up near the sharp "T"ends of the tooth and this is more likely if you're really packing in the wire. Also you can get one if you've left wire too close to the middle and it gets pinched when you put the stator on the bearing tube. It hurts your fingers and it takes longer than it seems like it should. Be patient and you'll figure it out. ![]() I'm running a stock 1100kv 4025 with 9x20 prop on 5s soon. If I rewind it with the same turns and big wire, maybe I could go as high as 6s, but I'll probably add some turns and go up to 10 or 12s. Steve C |

These 2 posts have really gotten my attention ! 1. You are turning a 7x7 @ 32,500 rpm 2. It takes well into 3500 watts to do this with an APC Sport, or are you using a Graupner (which needs less than 2500 watts to turn 32,500) ........... and how many cells are you running ? 3. 7x8 didnt unload at all ............... was this from inflight data, and how long did you run WOT, also what plane of yours has 7x7 @ 32,500 rpm with 200 mph ? (or is that 200 amps) ? This is no "ordinary power level" data you are looking for ..................... "loaded rpm and amps" ................ do you want in flight data ? |

Mopar - I think this is the plane and setup that Apex has been testing:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1715245 He might have moved to something else but he was testing some big ARC motors in this plane. I did some static testing yesterday with the big Mega installed in the Monster. I got close to 3KW at 21,000RPM's and 163 AMPS on a 5S NanoTech 65C/130C with Marcus' 7.5x13 folders. Going to get some kickin 6S batteries from one of my Heli buddies today and do some static at that level. New spinner should be here any day and will get some inflight data at 5 and 6S. |

My Gosh !!
I have grenaded them Aeronutz 7x7 props at 30k+ Your voltage is about 3.72 per cell ............. those figures are with a full battery, correct ? How did you get rpm and power levels with the Phoenix 125 as your ESC ? More specifically, what test equipment did you use ? Would you be willing to swap in an ICE 100 to see how it does in flight ? Getting back to your previous posts, how do you know the 7x8 did not unload if running Phoenix 125 ? I love your balsa scratch build !! |
