it is very "silent", you would think, the model isn't really fast.

you must hear the 5 blade 8,5x23 in flight........ undescribable.

Scorpion Fan - Was wondering...in the rewinded Scorpions what is the most common wire used (size) and what is the most common number of winds & what type of termination? I am thinking about winding a big outrunner in the near future.

this is very different and depends on the targeted battery, modelsize, prop and rpm.
with 1,5 (YY) or 1,6 (D) you are save for 200Amps for normal runs.

I will bring all the speedmotors back on my website soon (christmas)
now I have flight season and I find no time for doing this.
some of them you actually can find here:

NEU repaired!

Got the Neu back last night and made the back plate fix today...JB Weld and cap screws...not as pretty as set screws but easier to get in and out.
The JB has to cure over night so there won't be any test flights tonight...will have to wait till tomorrow morning
Might go to the field and fly the 400 Slipso just to keep the thumbs loose

@ Darron!
Your right! If this system was in flight in a f5D ship with 1000g max weight and about 140 cm span it would be very inefficient! But this setup were flown in an F3S model called Eagle with 186 cm span and about 3000g weight!
Under this aspects it seems not to be so inefficient !

Today we had another setup-test for our new Typhoon with a threebladed 11x20! Fastest run was between 430-435 km/h, so a step in the right direction but hopefully not the end! Time to finish my new props to get some better speed runs !

Ciao, Marcus

its easy!
use "java prop" http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/javaprop.htm
(programmed by dr. martin hepperle) and send your file to stefan heuel ((sheuel><attt><web.de)).
he will use your *.jpdata -file to make a milling file and mill a aluminium mould for your calculated prop.
before milling you will get a 3D model file of your prop.

the costs are imo reasonable:
about 200€ for the polished mould.

examples:

Now that is impressive! Those are things of beauty! You can bet I will have one of those! I don't mind the prop making part...it is the mold part that has always held me back.

I want that 8x12 in the pic!

Great Stuff Guys!!

ESC Mods Done.

The mods to the ESC are done...heat sinks front and rear and a fan on the front. Used Arctic Alumina to attach the sinks and they are there for good. Still waiting on the Kapton tape to arrive to wrap the rest of it up.
Will try to get in a flight tomorrow to test everything out
Need those Nano Tech 65C's to get here from HK then it's off to the races

Sorry Mopar I missed your post...in a way I did use heat. I put it under a light that gets pretty hot and let it bake all day at low heat. Hope it works!

In case you guys might of missed it...my first Monster is deceased: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1668258

The thread details the investigation that lead to a de-soldered Z connector on a Turnigy battery which brought down the plane because...stupid me was running the BEC off of the flight pack. 250 amps will melt solder!

Back on topic my NEW Monster 1.1 is somewhere between Ontario and here in Canada Post so I have a build question.

What are the Speed cup guys running for aileron link up? and are any of the guys using any of the RDS systems (which is the direction I am leaning)???

Here is a few videos of my HK fiberglass f16 w/ arc 28-58-1 in a wemo minifan, on a 6s. After I repair it and change the rx in it, I should have some longer and better ones for you.
